Instructions
for viewing these pages

If you have the Xdvng font installed you can use the "(xdvng)"
link. Else, if your system supports fonts for the Unicode
Standard
you can try the "(ucs)" link. In either case, remember to explicitly
select UTF-8 encoding in your browser if you have difficultly seeing
the
glyphs. The Ghazal pages render correctly
in Mozilla
(and Netscape) but not
in other browsers (notably Microsoft Internet Explorer). What can I
say!?
I recommend the use of the shiDeva Unicode font for best results with the
"(ucs)" pages.
Win2K/IE
Help for UCS: If you are running Windows then you really need help -
literally and figuratively ;-p Go to Control Panel -> Regional
Options. Make sure that you have the Indic Language Pack installed. In
addition, check that your Browser also supports the Indic languages and
is configured to use a Unicode font (like Arial Unicode MS, Mangal, or
Raghindi) for UTF-8 or Devnagari. That should do the trick.
Sorry that I cannot help Win98 folks on this :( Try installing the
Hindi font provided by BBC Hindi. |

If
you are interested in knowing how I generated the UCS pages I've a description of my phonetic
convention and the Lex parser that
maps transliterated text to the devnAgarI
UCS code points. All the language mappers that I've written for my
phoentic convention are:
1. Devnagari
2. Bengali
3. Gurmukhi
4. Gujrati
5. Oriya
