(AP - Ottawa) Without dwelling on the loss, let's look at some bright spots:
Despite having a rough 1st inning, Glazer settled down into a groove and gave up just 3 runs over the last four innings with 3 strike outs. He had a mean off-speed pitch which fooled their entire line-up, and should be in good shape to throw in the playoffs.
The bats were miniscule, but had their moments. O'Grady once again showed he's the man of the second half, by grabbing a base hit in the fourth inning and scoring one of only two runs. Gallant collected 2 RBIs, as Amos also collected a hit in there. Rogues bats are getting patient as well on the balls, as Hrycak, Glazer and Seb all collected walks in the later innings.
Despite some miscues in the outfield, the defense was on. Calve stopped everything that was near him, and played a solid second. Noel and Seb played well at first, and the infield started gelling as a unit, just in time for the post-season.
So there's one game left, vs The Big Red Machine. This will be a special game, as it will feature the return of the great Rick Hrycak for one final appearance. Dorn will take his usual spot at third.
One game left guys, let's finish with a 5-15 record, then amaze everyone in the post season with an even better record......
