Another close game, where slight mis-communication in the infield, quiet bats and a tough opposing pitcher cost the Rogues yet another game..

By Matt Cox #5

Martin Glazer is player of the game. Martin went 1-1 with a double and a walk, on a night where almost no Rogues produced at the plate. His double should have been more bases but it went out of play. Martin saved us from disaster on the mound, getting us out of a bases loaded jam.

(AP - Ottawa) The Rogues barely managed to field a team yet again as 9 Rogues took the field, including newcomer Noel Hayes. Cox took the mound for his second straight start, after Glazer showed up late. He pitched 3 solid innings, giving up 3 runs in the 3rd inning after some confusion at third and home cost the Rogues a run.

But the problem wasn't defense, it was bats as usual. The Rogues have been deadly in this department, scoring hardly 2-3 runs a game, and tonight was no difference.

The defense was there, especially at 3rd with Hayes making a couple nice plays, and behind the plate, where Dunbar took a beating but managed to hang in there to catch the rest of the game.

There's not really much else to report for this game. The Rogues are getting ready to compete in the Blackburn Hamlet tournament, a contest they were not eligible for last year, but qualifiy for this time around. Joining the Rogues will be Jason MacDonald and the back catcher Steve from The Wild Things. Darren Gallant will be unavailable, and the final roster has yet to be finalized.
