ROGUES 1
Big Red Machine 19

After getting beaten 19-1, four Rogues went to Local Heroes, and had some of the best damned wings they've ever eaten..

By Matt Cox #5

Sim Calve earns his first ever player of the game nod for the year 2001. Sim hit very well, with his first double, and two solid line-outs. He played very well in the #2 spot, and proved he's valuable to the team. As well, he ordered a round of beers for a team that alienated him at Local Heroes!

(AP - Ottawa) The Rogues played a bad ball game, and then 4 went to Local Heroes. Seb Soucy, Martin Soucy, Matt Cox and Sim Calve ordered a party size platter of wings split between 4 people. And Sim ordered a round of beers for the Rogues that didn't show up, and thus was stuck them. Ah well, em's the breaks.

The night started with the orders. Cox and Calve argued for a while about the quantity of wings they would like to order, and decided on the party platter, based on the fact that they expected more Rogues to show up. Impressively, once the wings came, only three remained at the end of the feast. Quite a meal! Half were "Medium", and the other half were "Honey Garlic".

Honey Garlic was ok, but not as good as Medium. They're ok for one or two, but after three, they're just sticky and not very enjoyable. I highly recommend the Medium wings at Local Heroes, they're very tasty.

So, the team practice on Sunday was halfway productive. By halfway, I mean that half the team made it out. (Well, 7 out of 12, but still....) Anyways, we went over base signs as well as bunting and fielding bunts. It was a productive practice that evolved into a scimmage game vs The Stingers. All in all, well worth the drive for an afternoon of good ball.

On Monday, at 9:30, the Rogues must walk through The Valley, the best team in the Grey Division. Nothing to lose, except the ball game. This is a good time to start a winning streak.
