ACTUAL FOOTAGE

This is me, obviously getting robbed of an RBI in our first game of the year against The Stingers. That's Ian Dunbar sliding into home, and Pascal Lalonde making the tag after a throw from Nick at first. I grounded out, then Nick threw home, and the ump CALLED IAN OUT...a travesty...we could have turned the game around...but take a look for yourselves and you be the judge.

Uniforms are gonna be Forest Green this year, thanks to a 4-1 one vote at a team meeting. Uniforms are going to be a total of $62 dollars with embroidered logos and numbers on the back. In addition to this, we're trying to get hats for free from Adidas, but this might take some shmoozing from Ian Dunbar. We all have faith.

At a glance...after doing some scouting...there doesn't seem to be any particularily week teams in the Grey Division. The Cougars have solid pitching and good hitting, although their fielding is questionable. And the Big Red Machine is 0-2 to start...pretty interesting.

Someone should have called 911 last night. We needed to be rescued. This was the worse offensive game the Rogues have ever been a part of. The defense was there, the pitching was great. But the bats...

By Matt Cox #5

Tonight's player of the game is Martin Soucy. Soucy was obviously the best offensive Rogues on the night. He went 2-3, getting hits in the first and the seventh innings. He played solid defense at first and hit the ball very well.

(AP - Ottawa) Oh dear god what a brutal game. This was James Street. JAMES STREET! The only team worse than us last year. And we got clobbered. Their hitting was there, their defense was effective, when called upon. But their pitcher was the story of the night.

When he walked to the mound, no one thought much of him. His warm-up pitches were slow and wild, and The Rogues were getting set to crush him. Unfortunately, his pitches had some sort of magic dust on them to make them curve inwards, because that night, he struck out 11 batters in 7 innings.

Now I'm not trying to come down hard on the batters of this team, for some people it was their first at-bat of the season...so there was some obvious rust. Some people were still getting used to seeing the ball, and thats ok. What's not ok is that people have been coming to the practices, have been knocking the sh*t out of the ball, and then completely miss it during the game. Were batters thinking, "Well, we're down by 9, what difference can I make?" Did the ball have THAT much junk on it? Who am I to criticize, I didn't even play last night, and if I did, I'm sure this pitcher would have been able to strike me out as well.

On the flipside, Seb Soucy and Martin Glazer pitched wonderfully. Seb had a good start, but the hitters for James Street were able to hit the ball very well. Our fielding was good, but at times rusty. Throws to the plate instead of the cut-off person cost a couple of runs, and other fundamentals that were lacking. But to be quite honest, it shouldn't have mattered, because our defense was good enough.

SUNDAY, MAY 27TH. 1:00PM DIAMOND #2. MANDATORY PRACTICE. Ian Dunbar especially because we need your equipment. Matt, Seb, Martin and Dan will be pitching to the rest of the team, as hard as they can. They will try and strike out the rest of the team. We need to find a groove, get our hitting back and raise our spirits if we're gonna have a chance at making it this year.
