(AP - Ottawa) 4 Games to go
And now's the time the Rogues have to start playing some heads up ball if they're going to make a run at the playoffs.
THE SCHEDULE HAS BEEN FIXED. ALL DATES ARE NOW OFFICIALLY CORRECT. SORRY 'BOUT THE CONFUSION.
Instead of talking about this game, I'll focus more on the next 4, and what they mean. In the standings, they mean zip. Unless we win all 4 games and score over 70 runs, we're not going to get past last place unfortunately. That doesn't mean anything however, since we'll make it into the playoffs anyways. So the key to the rest of the year is to focus on havign a good time, and enjoying playing on this team.
SIGNS: We had a team meeting halfway thru the year where signs were discussed. We decided that for the better of the team, we'd experiment with some signs. We practiced these signs at a practice later on, and have yet to truly encorporate them into a game. With four games left in the year and literally nothing to lose, I want EVERY Rogue to be trying these signs. Sim Calve will be at third base coaching for the most part, and he'll be giving the signs. Whether or not you believe they'll help or hinder your play is moot. We're not getting on base enough, and we need to try SOMETHING.
The other issue at hand presently is the Blackburn tournament. I'm handing in the money on Saturday to the convenor of the league, so I want a roster to give him along with it. No $$$ means you're not on the roster. Bring the $20 Wednesday, and you're on the team. Jason MacDonald and Steve from The Wild Things are joining us for this tourney, so the duggout might be a tiny bit more crammed, but everyone who pays $20 will get equal playing time.
So Big Red on Wednesday night...the rubber match. The Cougars have beaten this team twice, and we ourselves have a win against them. Rest assured, we may have only 2 wins this year, but they were wins against BIG teams, and tomorrow night we're going to prove that those two solid victories were not flukes. GO ROGUES!
