The effect of the serialized way I'm doing this is really going to be lost on some of you who don't get your mail on weekends.  I hope you're pausing a good 12 hours in between segments.  And I almost forgot: we watched The Princess Bride last night!!!

Oh yeah, you're waiting for part V, aren't you?  Okay.

The room was thick with tension, tension so unbearably and overwhelmingly thick that, in the end, it could only be described as thick tension.  The assembled masses held their breath - remember? - as Joel Tom Tate, RD extraordinaire, reached his hand into the big white room draw sombrero of fate and pulled out one little yellow room draw slip of destiny.

I looked at Moisio.

In an entirely unrelated development, Moisio looked at me.

Just to add to the suspense, we then BOTH looked at Joel.

Joel then looked at us.

Somewhere, a dog died.

"Okay," Joel said heartlessly, with no apparent concern for the dog, "the name is.....Chris Moisio."

Yawns swept through the crowd like wildfire.

Chris strutted his Italian rump up to the board and pointed to a freshman room in the basement. "I'll take room 2," he uttered triumphantly.

RD-ette Christine Tate looked at him disapprovingly.  "I'm sorry. You can't do that," she said.

Moisio, who at times bears an eerie resemblance to Satan, was at his demonic best as he choked out a "Why?"

Why indeed, the crowd wanted to know! Would this event that we had all been anticipating for so long come down to such an anticlimactic end, with both of us losing?

The answer was affirmative. Rules guarding the placement of freshmen include having no more than two upperclassman rooms in a row, and no less than two freshman rooms in the basement. "Ed," yes, creepy "Ed" had foiled the plans of 3rd Floor Shen.

But is the story over?

Not by a long shot.....
