Part 3: The Last Crises

    According to Terrestrial Defence Forces computers, and Anne Yuri from the Ultra Garrison, at this rate the earth and its lifeforms are going to be utterly destroyed. The Ultra Garrison and Science Patrol are shocked and wonder just what's going on.
    "No question about it. It came to destroy the Earth."
    Both Patrol and Garrison look up...and up, and up towards UltraSeven. The Strange Comet Tsuifon was on an orbit towards Earth. Although Taro and gang tried to turn it away, the monster inside kept to its course. Now, in order to keep on flying, it means to turn Earth itself into a comet. The defence teams are filled with shock and fear. "I don't know why, but he needs that comet." They have to stop Tsuifon somehow, but just how exactly?! The Super Fighter Taro and Ultraman are both down [shot of an unarmoured Ultraman and Demon Mefilas in these really cool healing chambers], but the humans have got to try. It's the only choice they have! The Science Patrol and Ultra Garrison prepare to move out, and 80 nods to UltraSeven. No more time to waste.
    Minutes later, the Ultra Garrison's underground tank, the Magma Riser is drilling its way towards Tsuifon's location. Nearing the place, it transforms into a robot similar to the VTOL G--Riser G! Seven 'surfs' in on Ultra Hawk 1, UH 2 and 3 follow behind and 80 flies in last. Tsuifon is finally located, deep in a cavern...

Anne	:	We've found Tsuifon! He's 2 kilometres in front of us in that lava!
Seven	:	Roger that! Hawk Weapon, Armed Up![oy, bad English...]

...and Seven FINALLY armours up in a really cool sequence. He has his sword, shield, bow and missile pack, upgraded--the Riser G is armed with a missile bow as well. They charge, although Anne warns them an energy reading from Tsuifon is increasing, and their target's sphere form surges out of the magma towards the advancing 80. Seven yells out.
"80!!!"

SMASH! CRASH!
Mefilas breaks the glass of the healing capsule he's in, sending water sloshing everywhere. A MAT member (Kishida?) spots him.

MAT member	:	Mefilas! What are you doing?!
Mefilas	:	Do you realise that you're in my way? What's the big idea shutting me up in that thing? turns Ultraman!? Hey, WHAT ARE YOU DOING AT A TIME LIKE THIS?!!!! Useless!!!

Ultraman's still unconscious in his glass capsule... Mefilas punches it out of frustration. Fuji screams for him to stop, but she needn't have worried; the punch doesn't do much more than crack the glass a tiny bit.
"Is this what it is...a Super Fighter! I thought much better of you.”…

80 is knocked out of the air and fires his Sakucium Beam at the advancing Tsuifon. Doesn't work! The Riser G and 7 perform some archery on the enemy, and although it gives 80 a chance to escape it doesn't do much else. Tsuifon now sends rocks flying at 80 and the Riser G, and knees the robot in the chest. As he prepares to roast the 'bot, Seven uses his missile pack on him, and swings with his sword. Fortunately, he doesn't miss. Unfortunately, it breaks against Tsuifon's hard skin and the alien regards Seven MOST imperiously.
Being close enough, Seven shoots two beams from his missile pack at Tsuifon, at point-blank range. Tsuifon reaches his arms up, still being beamed at, and in the next scene, Seven crashes down to the floor of the cavern. His missile pack is now just a twisted, torn chunk of metal! Suddenly, as if heeding a silent challenge, Tsuifon turns back into a sphere, busts out of the rock cavern and heads into space.

Seven	:	What's with him?
Anne	:	Oh, this is serious! Mefu...Mefilas has...!
Seven	:	Mefilas?!

The now hemisphere shaped moon is surrounded by 2 rings of its own fragments. Tsuifon is confronted there by a bandaged, caped Mefilas...

Mefilas

Heh heh...this time, you chose to fight me. I’m glad. Even so, you probably have no idea why my energy's increased so much! *whips off cape to reveal round device strapped on chest* This is the Ultra Energy Amplifier!...It is a creation of evil so dangerous no one's ever used it! However, it will amplify my energy tens of times stronger than even Hyper Energy! Enough to beat you up!…Prepare yourself, you comet being!

Tsuifon looks decidedly unimpressed. The crystal on the device glows gold, and in a burst of light and sound Mefilas powers up into his Hyper Form--spiky shoulders, longer ears. He pounces on Tsuifon, punching like a madman, and gets thumped in the back! Banjou and Notani are watching in a nearby space station, surprisingly still giving commentary. On the healing space station, Taro and Yullian are watching the scene, and so are a now unarmoured Seven, the Ultra Garrison and Science Patrol from the Earth. Banjou can’t believe it’s Mefilas!

Mefilas	:	What a boring stinker…I punch you and I don’t feel a thing! Nothing returns to this fist! When I think that Ultraman lost to a guy like you I get really mad!* I'll defeat you! (uses a really vile form of you--not even omae** but kisama--throughout the fight)
Taro	:	Mefilas fought in our place...?!

The fight goes on, now beam-to-beam. Poor Mefilas is dealt severe helpings of whoopass and he is beamed at and beaten up many times. Would you believe the rest of the world is watching this all on TV? Scenes of Ultraman play through the alien's mind, which spur him on.

Mefilas:

I will surely beat you...that is my trial! *gets beamed* This is for that guy who defeated me…no, you probably wouldn't understand that! In battle with him…in battle with him, that thing born within me? That is what’s called the fighting man's pride...NOW DROP DEAD!!!***

    Using all his strength, Mefilas charges up his 'Ultra Evil Beam' and fires, sending Tsuifon crashing into the moon with a terrific explosion! He's done it!
    "Did it, Ultraman...AAAAGHH!!!"
    Due to high amounts of energy, and all that pummelling he took, the Ultra Energy Amplifier has overloaded and is arced with bolts of electricity. Mefilas screams in agony just before the device explodes--on him! Manjou and Taro cry out in shock. The Earth teams are equally speechless, Fuji is all shiny-eyed and Anne looks away. "Mefilas," Seven murmurs...almost reverently.
    "Yatta ze. Urutoraman." The words echo softly, and still in the healing capsule, Ultraman's now blinking red Colour Timer turns to blue...

There's not much of the moon left, and Mefilas is lying on one of its bigger fragments, the broken U.E.A. looking awfully like a busted Colour Timer (/._.\). He sees the blurry face of Ultraman before him, and the Ultran props his former rival up in his arms. [I had to translate the whole conversation here cus I LOVE Mefilas' death scene.]

Ultraman	:	Mefilas...what the…?!
Mefilas	:	You finally came…that's just like you...
Ultraman	:	No more talk! I'm getting you back to Earth, now!
Mefilas	:	Drop that. I am not immortal like you...although I tried to keep on fighting like you...It looks like I’m not as cool a guy or as good as you are...
Ultraman	:	What are you saying?! Didn't you defeat Tsuifon? Your capabilities are above mine!
Mefilas	:	Heh heh...true, YOU couldn't win against him, right...

Ultraman nods, and suddenly senses a presence behind him. Tsuifon's glowing red eyes and silhouette give him away. (Holy...How do you kill this kisama anyway?!) Ultraman gets a bit jumpy and he squeezes Mefilas' arm by accident...

Mefilas	:	What?
Ultraman	:	forces a smile You were great, Mefilas...you were great. [Sugokatta, past tense of sugoi is used] That guy is dust, the Earth is saved...it's all thanks to you!
Mefilas	:	Is that so? That’s good...closes his eyes
Ultraman	:	Mefilas!...sob!

**There are several forms of pronoun in Japanese, depending on politeness and context. For example, 'I' can be expressed by the words watakushi, watashi, wa, ore, oira, washi, wai, atashi, warawa, etc. could be In the same way, kisama is a VERY impolite form of you. Do not use this in conversation in Japan (unless you're an anime character or you have a death wish.)
***Kutabaru is an extremely coarse form of the verb 'to die'. It can also be translated to mean…well…heck, go find out yourself. You get the gist.
