ULTRAMAN: SUPER FIGHTER LEGEND ANIME SYNOPSIS
It is the year 3026. After a hundred years of peace, the third Ginga Saikyou
Butou Kai (Galactic Strongest Battle Competition) is taking place on Earth!
Monsters, aliens and humans pack the streets all the way to the giant stadium
where Announcer Banjou and Prof. Notani are. At long last, there appears the
'guardian of Earth': Ultraman, naturally, wearing a blue and gold suit of
armour!
To the north of the Milky Way, Jack, Ace, Taro, Leo, Astra and a revived Ace
Killer don armour and go in search of the Strange Comet Tsuifon, which will
once again threaten the Earth this year. They find it, but it absorbs the first
volley of attacks. Taro transforms into Super Fighter and blasts the comet with
his Storium Ultra Light Wave; what's left when the smoke clears is a spherical
fragment, seemingly harmless until it opens up into a monster-like being--Comet
God Tsuifon. Using a purple vacuum wave weapon, he manages to defeat all six,
including Taro. Turning back into his sphere form, he heads for Earth. Taro
uses the last of his strength to send out an Ultra Sign, warning the Space
Garrison that Tsuifon is a lifeform.
Zoffy and Ultra Father receive the message, and the latter muses about the
truth of a certain legend; that of a living shooting star, destroying the
universe as it advances. His reverie is interrupted, however, by a Garrison
recruit warning that Tsuifon has been spotted heading towards the Earth's moon!
While all this was going on, Ultraman was getting ready to fight against Demon
Mefilas. Let's just say there's a lot of history behind it. Despite the fact
there are a lot of humans around, Mefilas turns all hell loose on Ultraman. An
unarmoured UltraSeven tries to stop Mefilas. No use--the seijin is intent on
defeating Ultraman this time! Seven rushes to help his friend but is once again
waved aside; Ultraman gives the reason that this time, the fight is between he
and Mefilas alone. Using an armband from his armour, Ultraman transforms it to
the Ultra Crown, a device akin to a power generator. As the two
continue the fierce battle, Tsuifon smashes into the stadium. The monsters
there--Bakishim, Bemstar, Eleking, Red King and Gomora--gallop forth to try and
kick this guy's butt, but a huge vacuum wave knocks the stadium AND the
contestants flat, except of course for Mefilas and Ultraman. Mefilas's strikes
have no effect, and Ultraman heads towards the moon to save the Earth from the
damage that is about to ensue. Tsuifon follows his target, and so does Mefilas.
On the moon, an all-out fight ensues. Tsuifon is almost too strong for Ultraman
and it ends when Mefilas 'saves' him from Tsuifon's mortal blow and Ultraman
blasts Tsuifon into the moon with a Specium Ultra Light Wave. Mefilas refuses
to acknowledge his actions as 'help...that guy was in my way'. Just about then,
Seven, Zetton and the Science Patrol in their VTOL arrive. This is followed
very quickly by the rise of Tsuifon, who is not dead and has powered up to
become a humongous horned humanoid. He flattens everyone, crushes Ultraman's
Ultra Crown and tosses him back to Earth. An armoured Ultraman 80 and the
Science Patrol find him in the sea a little later, and he and Mefilas are put
into healing chambers.
Tsuifon goes on to create havoc by smashing into the Earth's core. Natural
disasters occur with frightening speed. At this rate, calculates Anne of the
Ultra Garrison, all lifeforms on Earth and the Earth itself will be destroyed.
Seven deduces, correctly, that Tsuifon is sucking all the energy and magma out
of the planet to turn it into a second comet! The humans prepare for battle;
the Ultra Garrison get into the Magma Riser, which transforms into the robot
Riser G, and zip off to find Tsuifon. A now-armoured Seven and 80 follow. It's
not hard to find him, and the three forces take it on. Tsuifon rips the Riser
G's chest open, batters 80 with rocks and smashes Seven's weapons and armour.
All of a sudden, he stops, turns back into his sphere form and heads up and
out. Seven's confusion is cleared when Anne announces the source of the trouble
is Mefilas!
While the fighters were out, Mefilas awakened, smashed the healing chamber and
spotted Ultraman. Flying into a dreadful rage the alien punches his capsule
(doesn't break, thank goodness) and speeds off towards what remains of the
moon. There he reveals he possesses an Ultra Energy Amplifier which will
increase his power many times over during the fight against Tsuifon. Another
battle ensues, during which Mefilas remembers Ultraman and refuses to give up.
Despite serious wounds, he blasts Tsuifon with an Ultra Evil Beam,
causing the comet being to fall down towards a moon fragment...and the Ultra
Energy Amplifier to explode!
A now healed Ultraman speeds to the moon to find Mefilas dying. The alien
dismisses his intentions to take him back to Earth because he is '...not
immortal like you'. The alien dies, believing thanks to Ultraman lying that
Tsuifon is dead. He's not. He was watching the whole sappy scene. A very angry
Ultraman confronts Tsuifon, and a little philosophical conversation plays out.
Ultraman refuses to let Tsuifon go ahead with his plan, and despite the loss of
the Ultra Crown, goes ahead and powers up into his true Super Fighter form!
The fight is fierce and it looks like Tsuifon is going down...that is, until
Ultraman's Colour Timer begins to blink. Without the Ultra Crown there is no
further supply of power to his body, and his fighting time is cut down to three
minutes, with one minute to go when the C.T. begins to blink. Tsuifon seizes
his chance! He traps Ultraman in the path of a red laser, sealing him in a
sphere of light and thrusts his central horn straight through Ultraman's Colour
Timer! Ultraman is instantly killed!
Take note that everyone has been watching this battle (and Mefilas' battle) one
way or another, and the world is in outcry. Although the body is dead and
floating through space, the soul still refuses to accept death until justice is
served. As Ultraman puts it so succintly, "I cannot afford to die!" A
light shines in his eyes, his energies magically heal and particles of blue light
surround his Colour Timer, repairing it, resurecting him and forming a
3-pointed light shield round it; the Delta Star!
Once
again, Ultraman heads for Tsuifon. The comet being attacks the Colour
Timer--twice--but the Delta Star proves its worth and Tsuifon ends up without
hand or horn to prove it. Ultraman then delivers the final blow, a massive
Specium Ultra Light Wave, and destroys the comet! Banjou whoops with joy,
calling Ultraman a hero amongst heroes, but Notani corrects him, saying he is
not the only one--the hero is in his, and everybody's hearts.
