The
Waterloo and City line, or the 'Drain' as it is known to some, is
one of the stranger tube lines. Control was transferred from
British Rail to London Underground in the 1990s, and today the line
is maintained by Infraco BCV. While the line uses Central Line
style 1992 stock, the actual stock on the Waterloo and City line is
different in over 200 ways to the 1992 stock on the Central
Line. In 2000, the line carried 14.4 million passengers
between Bank and Waterloo and Visa Versa. The route is 1.5
miles in total, and takes about four minutes to travel on.
