This is titled...Hey, I found a template in a book and I can go on now!

Does not matter right now what size this template is that you find.  You will use it to make your larger paper foundation diamond templates for your quilt. You just want the angle in the tip.

The simple way is to scrounge through all of the templates you have purchased and all the patterns and all the books and magazines you have around and look for a template or pattern piece for an eight pointed star.

Print one out from your quilting computer software if you one of the prorams.
What you are looking for is a star pattern with eight diamond sections. It doesn't matter how big or how little the pattern is right now, or what *style* of eight pointed star it is, as long as it is a 45 degree diamond in the pattern.

If you have a handy template go to the next step on how to draft your large paper foundation from your smaller template.

What you are looking for is the template for the diamond shape. These could be paper templates you can trace from a magazine or hard plastic templates that came in a kit...whatever.

I will show you a trick for turning the smaller template into a HUGE Lone Star quilt point. This point can be from 8 inches to 88 inches or a size you find only in your dreams!
