The Forbidden City

This was the Emperor's house--all 9,999 rooms of it. The Last Emperor gives one a pretty good feel for the vastness of the place--something which was hard to capture on film during our trip because the heavy smog obscured all objects in the not too distant distance. The smog did give things a nice, surreal feel though.

This was one big wanking palace--you can make out the outlines of the rectangular complex (despite the smog) in this picture taken from Behai Park. (All the traditional style buildings were part of it.)
