I.D. Cards - The big debate rattles on. Does Great Britain need the dreaded I.D. Card? Well, yes and no...... If you think it goes against your human rights to be catalogued and all your personal, financial, medical and other details added to a smart chip within the card - then I guess no.
But...... If you consider the number of illegals in this country sponging off the state, taking jobs which could benefit legitimate workers, you now have a totally different situation. Think about it - refugees and asylum seekers, illegal immigrants, economic refugees, even foreign criminals and - God forbid - terrorists masquerading as who knows what. Who's here already? thousands. Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Add these all together and you have a problem that isn't going to go away. And it's going to get a lot worse before it starts, if ever, to get better.
So, one answer could be a limited I.D. Card. One which has your fingerprint and a photo on it. Perfect for identification without going too far. Your blood group might be a good addition if something happens to you and you need help in an emergency. Even a DNA listing. This way, no one finds out about your finances, your National Insurance number or your health records. When you think about it, only criminals and others with things to hide would be against this sort of card.
