THE PEARL AND MOONSTONE
presented by Modesty Blaze
The Pearl is one of the organic gemstones
because it comes from the oyster. It's part of
an oyster's defense system. When a foreign element
enters the oyster, it covers it with nacre
in layers. These layer formations form the pearl.
Oysters can be made by man by introducing a foreign
element inside the oyster...these are called
Cultured Pearls.
Fresh-water Pearls are elonglated in all kinds of
shapes and colors and are created on Pearl Farms.
The more perfectly rounded, the more valuable the pearl.
The higher the luster, the more valuable;
the bigger, the more valuable.
Pearls are 'delicate,' not good for everyday wear.
Do not scrub them hard or use ultrasonic cleaners
on them. Treat them respectfully.
Special Powers:
Pearls insure tranquility and good marriages.
They calm the intellect.
Pearls are mystical, associated with Atlantis...
mysteries of the Deep.
Edgar Cayce thought that wearing a pearl gives
healing vibrations, promotes creativity,stabilizes
the emotions.
In Ancient times, Priests wore a single pearl over
'The Third Eye.'
This enhanced their powers.
In healing, pearls are often powdered and eaten
to make the heart strong, to cure consumption.
Pearls are often the symbol of Wisdom.
Pearls are found in
the South Sea, in Indonesian and Australian waters
THE MOONSTONE is a June alternative.
They are many-colored and suit the many moods
of those born in June.

They are often set in antique settings.

aura, the unseen world, secrets...
a favorite stone of fortunetellers as well as the spiritual.
Moonstones were used by farmers in the Middle Ages.
Because it belonged to the moon, they thought it would
encourage crops to grow, make vegetables hearty.
