THE AQUARMARINE
presented by Modesty Blaze

Aquamarine is the traditional March birthstone.
This is a stone of the water.
Aquamarines are a beautiful sea blue,
pastel in hue.

Aquamarines are not difficult to obtain yet,
so large ones are available.
Aquamarines cut well and are breathtaking!
They are dramatic and very durable.

In ancient times aquamarines aided our seafarers.
Aquamarines symbolize making new friends and
love of the sea.
They are a symbol of hope, youth and good health
all over the world.
They're refreshing, very sparkkkkkkkkk...ly,
a thoughtful going-away gift.

Like the emerald, aquamarines are part of
the Beryl stone family.
They are sometimes streaked with grey or green,
but these are not as valuable as the lustrous seablue.
Sometimes when they are being processed, they are
heated to remove traces of yellow.

To take care of the aquamarine properly,
you must immerse it in soapy water
(or jewelry cleaner), and clean with a
soft brush. This maintains its brilliance.
Do NOT use a home ultrasonic machine.

Aquamarines are the anniversary gem for the
19th year of marriage.
They are lovely cut in rectangles or squares.

Special Powers:
Bring hope and make youth lasting.

Aquamarines are found in
Brazil and Nigeria. Zambia.
Madagascar and The Ukraine.

"A woman without a ring is like
perfume without a scent"
maggieblue says that

~also~
"A ring without a stone has to be
heavy silver or gold, preferably gold..."
maggieblue says that too

~also~

Rings on the fingers,
rings on the toes...
but do not think
a ring in the nose.

A jewel in the nose might be nice
a diamond, sapphire, citrine
would suffice.

But pearls in the nose,
that's really a 'Tskkkkkkkkkkkkkk...'
Who has sniffed up a pearl
knows this is a risk!
maggieblue says that too

Au Revoir, Beloved.
