THE AMETHYST
presented by Modesty Blaze
The Greeks believed that wearing amethysts would
prevent intoxication, so amethysts became a very
popular gem with men as well as women.
These stones are a symbol of peace,
serentiy, and protection.
Because of their calm healing abilities,
they are often kept in the home in the rough crystal,
uncut and unpolished.
Amethysts are often kept by the sickbeds
of the sick and dying.
They are also placed under the pillow of
a beloved one's final resting place,
especially when there has been suffering.
Place small polished stones or small crystals
in a shallow glass bowl near your bed, and
you will have peaceful untroubled sleep.
You can buy these in rock shops or catalogs.
Amethysts are durable and usually shiny.
They last for years.
They are a variety of quartz.
Amethysts are the accepted gemstone for the
sixth year of marriage.
Special Powers:
Amethysts are said to prevent baldness
and improve the complexion.
Noblemen and Royalty have always loved amethysts...
The Ancient Greeks and Egyptians and
the British Crown Jewels
have many amethysts in them.
Amethysts are found in
Care:
Brazil, Zambia and Uruguay.

a ring in the nose.
a diamond, sapphire, citrine
would suffice.

Who has sniffed up a pearl
knows this is a risk!
