Campo San Polo, where we sat and watched the locals for an hour or two one night. The view from a very popular wine bar in Cannareggio, where we sat and drank Brunello... ... and watched the sun go down, while literally hundreds of people passed by. Local kids at a counter.

While I was photographing every door knocker and architectural detail in town, Brett was taking pictures of shop windows, which came out great. Meat market, literally... Judaica store in the ghetto... And a glass store.

The Holocaust memorial in the ghetto. We thought we were at Hemingway's old haunt, Harry's Bar. We even thought we'd seen a sign. But we weren't, and apparently the sign was a mirage. Wonder if any of these people were fooled too. Laundy hung across the alleys is a constant feature of life in Venice. Brett at Not-Harry's-Bar.

Shoppers in the evening. The yellow sign in the foreground is for the nearest water bus stop. Someone's windows are lit up as darkness falls. A work boat on the canal. Campo San Polo.
