The shutters on this were the most startling shade of moss green, made even more dramatic by the drab walls around it. I'm unreasonably proud of this picture. :) The blue sky helped a lot. The water in the canals tends to be this peculiar shade of cloudy green, like chalk. It's probably pollution but I like it. Night on a side canal in Venice.
Winter plants on a typical building in Cannareggio. You've seen this before, if you looked at the architecture page, but the colors are so nice that it needed to go here too. Green shutters in the square just outside our hotel. At certain times of day in Venice all of the colors mute into this beautiful pastel wash.

Beautiful layers of red, yellow, and orange paint in Campo Maria Formosa. A typical Mary shrine with its brilliant blue, encased in the walls of a yellow house.
