The riverside is closer to its natural state
at Brimbank Park than at any other point between here and
Footscray, so access to the riverbank is only possible at a few points, such as
the two fords above.
Mostly the riverside walking / cycling path is separated from the river by
a narrow strip of bush.
The park features many picnic areas with
tables and barbecues, very popular on weekends with large family
groups. If you're looking for peace and quiet, weekdays are the
best time to go.
Other facilities include
Some picnic shelters
Children's playgrounds
Kite-flying areas
A network of walking / cycling paths
Plenty of open space
Visitor Information centre
Cafe
Toilets
Plenty of car parking
