Visits to Asakusa and Nikko with Friends

In the rare moments when we are not working, there is plenty to do in and around Tokyo.  In the summer, there are many local festivals, which always feature good street food (like squid on a stick) and plenty of folks in good old-fashioned fashions.  And, if you like temples and shrines, Nikko and Kamakura are just a couple of hours away.
