GeoStory
|
Each month we like to publish a story that shows how Yahoo!
GeoCities affects people's lives. Here's our pick for this month:
Dear
GeoCities,
About a year and a half ago, a missionary friend asked if I could
bring my family to teach a Bible Study class they needed in
Zambia, Africa. Upon accepting, we spent our time getting ready
(shots, passports, visas, etc.) as well as putting together a
6-lesson study on religion.
Being our first
trip out of the United States, into a country that is relatively
new to technology, we thought that it would be difficult to
communicate with our loved ones back home. So, we decided to
create a Yahoo! GeoCities web site that we could use to stay in
contact.
Now that we are
starting our 5th week, we've found that getting online is not
always easy, so when we do get on-line, we can upload to this web
site such that we communicate to everyone at once.
I spend half of my week in the bush without any means of
communication. When I return, I can quickly update our pages to
report the adventures we've been on.
Thanks for offering such a great service!
Sincerely, Jim
