Brown Shield Bug - Dictyotus sp.

This page contains pictures and information about Brown Shield Bug that we found in the Brisbane area, Queensland, Australia.

Body length 8mm
 
These little shield bugs are pale brown in colour. Their colour vary a little between individals. The bugs is are active fliers. If we come too closely, they fly away.

In mid summer we found this bug laying eggs on grass. Their eggs are creamy white and laid in two rows.

We found some of them near by feeding on tall grasses near Bulimba Creek in Macgregor Bushland.
