On Saturday, January 19th, Acolytes from around the district met in Corozal Town for a day of prayer, songs, classes, films, and games. We had over sixty young boys and girls attend.
This year beginning on the Feast of the Epiphany, the Diocese of Belize City and Belmopan is celebrating its 150th anniversary. This year-long celebration will close on the Feast of Christ the King. There are numerous celebrations planned and each district is asked to organize its own means of celebrating this event in the life of the Church here in Belize. We have recently completed yet another WATCH retreat for youths in the district. It was a great success and the young people are already asking about the next one. We use the WATCH model, We Are The Church. Young people take the leadership roles in the retreat and share their experiences in faith with one another. It is a wonderful weekend experience for all who have participated.
