T

Take Up Serpents (PG-13) by Mariner. Tom Riddle travels to America to apprentice to a wizard. One shot.

Talk of the Devil (G) by Narcissa Malfoy. Barty Crouch Sr. visits the Dursleys, about 15 months after his son is imprisoned in Azkaban. Angsty. One shot. The remix, by Sullen Siren, is called Extraordinary Normalcy (Dinner at 8 Remix) and is rated PG. It's also quite good, and is also a one-shot.

The Taste of Smoke (PG-13) by Tani. There are some things that cannot be forgotten. For George Weasley, the taste of smoke is one of them. One shot.

Teacher's Pet (PG-13) by Didodikali. Hermione is studying the Animagus transformation, and she discovers that she can turn into a snake! The trouble is that she can't seem to turn back again. And guess who picks her up, of all people? The story itself is nothing spectacular; the illustrations are really what make it cool. Two chapters.

Teiresias (PG?) by alibi-factory. Pure gen, apart from a little flirting. Somebody is going back through time to change things. Surreal. One shot.

Telling (PG) by Mardil. Draco reflects over his father's coffin. Sad. One shot.

That Minty Fresh Glow (T) by Shinga. James and Sirius have brewed a new potion, and they want to test it out on Peter. Cute and well characterized. One shot.

That's What Friends Are For (PG) by Dien Alcyone. The new Defence professor shows up. And he happens to be friends with Snape. (Pause for shock/gasp/horror.) A nice little story. WIP, most likely abandoned.

These Same and Weary Roads (G) by Falkesbane. Snape has an appointment with Draco to talk about future careers, and remembers a similar interview long ago. One shot.

They Cannot See Me (G) by netbyrd. Percy sneaks back to the Burrow on Christmas, and remembers Christmases past. Sad. One shot.

They Shook Hands (PG) by Dethryl. It's fairly obvious how the kids will pair off when they get older, but for now it's pure gen. This is another AU, this one asking what would have happened if Draco had befriended Harry in Madam Malkin's instead of putting him off. As a result, Harry is sorted into Slytherin, and everything changes. I like the OCs in this fic. Novel length, WIP. It's now at the beginning of Harry's second year.

Thicker Than Blood (PG-13) by rainmaker1. This is Barty Crouch's story, from the time he was smuggled out of Azkaban to his return to Hogwarts as Mad-eye Moody. Novel length WIP.

Thine Own Self (PG-13) by Perri Smith. The Muggle-borns in Slytherin house are rapidly running out of options, and Dumbledore still isn't back. MWPP-era, with wonderful, believeable OCs. Chaptered fic.

Things That Don't Exist (PG-13) by shadoed. A Muggle notices a striking girl in the library. Short one shot.

The Thinking Cap (G?) by Andrea13. How does the Sorting Hat actually make its decisions? Lots of Founders nuttiness. One shot. There are also a string of sequels here.

This Is Not the End (G?) by anenko. During Harry's seventh year, things start to change at Hogwarts. One shot.

This life holds its secrets like the sea (PG-13) by stellamaru. At the orphanage Tom Riddle strikes up a conversation with a snake. Angsty, and creepy towards the end. One shot.

This Living Hand (R?) by Millefiori. It has either very understated Snape/Draco or a close mentor/protegé relationship between them. The summer before Draco's seventh year, he runs away, and Voldemort discovers that Snape is a spy. Nine years later, Harry comes back to teach Defence at Hogwarts. Tense. One shot.

This Side or the Other (PG-13) by The Treacle Tart. There are a few small het references. Albus is dead, and must decide whether to stay in this world as a ghost or go on to the next great adventure. Sweet. One shot.

A Thousand Words (G?) by Bernice. I'm not sure how well I can describe this fic. It's about Snape, and a warm day by the lake, and it's probably the only fic of its kind. Read this. One shot.

A Thousand Wishes (G?) by Hannelore. Neville, folding paper cranes to make a wish. Sad. One shot.

Three, Two, One (PG?) by beingothrwrldly. James rides the train alone. One shot.

The Three Wishes of Draco Malfoy (PG) by HumanTales. Draco Malfoy makes three wishes on a monkey's paw. Clever. One shot.

Thyself In Me (PG-13) by Branwyn. Includes the canon marriages of the Black sisters. Caught between two domineering older sisters, Narcissa can never find herself. Thoughtful. One shot.

'Till I Wake Your Ghost (PG-13) by lifeinwords. Ginny has ink in her veins. Creepy, with great imagery. One shot.

To All That (PG-13) by Lisse. Dorcas Meadowes' last moments. One shot.

To Fly (PG-13) by Amber. As Harry and Ron are out fighting Voldemort, Hermione researches in the library and fights her own battles. Angsty. One shot.

To Make Them Proud (G) by Rynne. This is yet another take on Regulus' Sorting. I like how obnoxious Sirius is. One shot.

To Walk Afraid (PG?) by imochan. Little Sirius occasionally sees a large black dog. The end brings it together wonderfully. Angsty. One shot.

Tower of Air (PG) by Cluegirl. How Albus remembers the cost of what he does. Angsty and thoughtful. One shot.

Transfigure (G) by Glockgal. There's a platonic R/Hr kiss, and Hermione thinks about boys a bit. Ron just can't stop thinking about Scabbers. Short one shot.

Transmit and Recieve (PG) by Kay Taylor. Draco's Mudblood cousin (not Tonks) visited the manor once. Angsty. One shot.

Triumph of the Last Marauder (PG?) by Dazzler. Harry spends his summer restoring an old motorcycle, but it's much better than it sounds. One shot.

The Truest Master (PG-13) by Bugland. Link goes to intertexius.com; enter the site and click on 'Stories' to find this fic. Nine year old Severus at his home. Dark. Chaptered.

The Truth About Harry (PG-13) by Ivy Blossom. Ginny can't see Harry anymore. Cool premise. One shot.

'Twas Brillig (PG-13) by mary_re. Harry is captured by Death Eaters, and all he can think of is the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. One shot.

'Twas Winter And (PG) by Theodor. Draco meets a Baba Yaga. Short one shot.

Twelve Again (PG-13) by Dhrevla. After Professor Snape fails to return from a Death Eater meeting, Hagrid finds a young dark-haired boy who believes the year is still 1968. The victim of an experimental time-reversal potion, young Severus tries to adapt to a changed world. Very good. WIP, novel length.

Twisted Loyalty (R) by Ayla Pascal. The story of a Hufflepuff who became a Death Eater. Creepy, with a memorable OC. One shot.

Two Down (G) by Rowan Redford. After attending Black's memorial service, Snape does the crossword and has a visit from someone from his past. Well written, with a well characterized Snape. One shot.

Two Hundred Sixteen (PG-13) by Telepwen. People die in war. Everyone knows that. Thoughtful. One shot.

Two Weeks (PG-13) by florahart. Pure gen, other than wanking. Nine days after Vernon kicks it, and two weeks before Harry turns seventeen, there's no food in the house. But Harry's locked in, so someone will have to go with him to get it. Amusing, despite the situation. One shot.

Two Worlds and In Between (PG-13, may become R later) by Minerva McTabby. Borderline; his fic includes slash and het relationships, but they're not the whole story. In 1855, Aberforth Dumbledore has just been sorted into Slytherin, and Julius Marvolo decides to take him on as a challenge to Albus. This is a Hogwarts very different from the one we see in Harry's day, though -- for instance, no females have attended for 300 years, and the top families play vicious status games. It's a great read. Chaptered WIP that's updated infrequently.

U

Uncle Algie Makes A Call (G) by BrieflyDel. When Neville was eight, his Uncle accidentally dropped him out a window. This is the story of that encounter. Well written. One shot.

Unfinished Business (G) by Cynthia Black. This is another Neville fic, in which he ponders on the wand he broke in the Ministry of Magic. One shot.

Unforgivable (PG) by darkriddler. Neville thinks about the Cruciatus, and his parents. Angsty. One shot.

An Unlikely Proposal (PG) by Expelliarmus. Hermione goes a bit too far back with her Time Turner and runs into Barty Crouch Sr. Cool premise with great execution. One shot.

Unlocking Door (PG-13) by The Treacle Tart. After OotP, Percy Weasley is reassigned to the Ministry of Magic's Safety Deposit Facility, where many of the Pensieves stored during the First Voldemort War were forgotten. One day, he finds the key to a vault that he somehow never noticed before. An interesting idea. One shot.

Unsticking the Shadow (PG-13?) by Pogrebin. Voldemort gives an interview, and no one can understand why Hermione is so worried about what he says. This fic shows how easily people and their prejudices can be manipulated. It's scary. One shot.

Untitled (PG?) by Almighty Hat. Canon couples (Vernon/Petunia, James/Lily) are there, but it's really about Petunia's relationship with family. Almighty Hat does a very good job of teasing out what makes Petunia tick. One shot.

Uric the Oddball and the Wild Hunt (PG) by Ariana Deralte. It's 1680 and Uric "the Oddball" Beaufolle is starting at Hogwarts. New teachers. New students. New problems. Just how much trouble can an eleven-year old get into? Plenty. Uric is absolutely awesome. Novel length.

Usual Suspect (G?) by Nope. Pranks are being pulled, and everyone thinks old Peeves is to blame. Fun. One shot.

V

The Valley of the Shadow of Death (PG-13?) by Katerine. Draco has a fainting spell that triggers his abilities as a Medium -- someone who can speak to the ghosts that most living people can't see or hear. Novel length, abandoned WIP.

The Very Secret Diary (PG-13 or R) by Arabella. Includes Ginny's crush on Harry, Ginny crushing on Tom and (I think) the canon Percy/Penelope relationship, but it's overwhelmingly gen. A reconstruction of Ginny writing in Tom's diary during CoS. It's just... definitive, really. Novel length.

W

Waiting (G) by Captain James. Perhaps R/S if you squint. Remus takes Harry to Grimmauld Place, where he'll have to spend the rest of the summer. Angsty. One shot.

Walking Shadow (PG-13) by Pogrebin. Harry has a past relationship with Gabrielle Delacour. Surreal and meta, as so many of Pogrebin's fics are. It's a story told backwards, of the second choice that Harry made, aided by Hermione. Weird, in a good way. Long one shot.

Wanderings with Werewolves: The True Story (K) by Fox In the Stars. We find out some of what Remus Lupin did during the lean years. Amusing. One shot.

The Warden (PG-13?) by Rilina. Bellatrix's imprisonment in Azkaban, told from the POV of the prison's warden. Wonderful characterization of Bellatrix, Sirius, and Barty Crouch, and the warden is a great OC. One shot.

Water-horse (R?) by Igenlode Wordsmith. Snape comes into possession of a kelpie and decides to harvest its blood, with not so good results. Scary, and it doesn't end well either. Novel length fic.

The Way of the Wolf (G) by Wahlee. The first full moon after the events of OotP, Remus has a chat with a wolf. Eddings readers will recognize the patterns of speech. Angsty, but ends on a hopeful note. One shot.

We Few, We Happy Few (PG-13) by 13YearOldEvilGenius. The War is going on, but Harry and Draco have the same sense of ennui. I like this; it's sort of a different take on both of them. One shot.

Wednesday (PG-13) by Northlight. Petunia reflects on her son, her sister, and her nephew one summer morning. The end is rather confusing, but the rest is good. One shot.

Welcome to the Dollhouse (R) by Lilith Morgana. Sometimes hate is the only thing a potions master has to live for. Dark. Short one shot.

The Well-Ordered Mind (PG) by Garland Graves. Dumbledore considers his Pensieve, himself, and those around him. Quite well-written. One shot.

When A Student Becomes A Friend (G?) by Taran. Filch finally meets a student who he likes. Cute. One shot.

When Everybody Loves You (G) by beingothrwrldly. Mr. Padfoot decides that Mr. Moony needs to be funkified. Cute. One shot.

When The Student Is Ready (PG) by ColdCoffeeEyes25. Albus Dumbledore reflects on his greatest student, and then pays him a visit. Angsty. One shot.

When We Were Gone Astray (M by skyhawke ratings) by Malecrit. Severus visits a former friend for Christmas in 1981. Good characterization. One shot.

Where She Stands (G) by amberdiceless. Minerva runs into Severus right after the Pensieve incident. One shot.

the whole of the moon (PG) by minervacat. Remus drinks cold tea every morning. Angsty. One shot.

Wild Men Who Sang the Sun in Flight (PG-13) by lyras. Sirius' final battle. Nice characterization. One shot.

Winter's Debt (PG-13) by La Guera. Includes references to sex, though it's not shippy. Draco Malfoy remembers what he lost in the War. Gorgeous, gorgeous story. One shot.

With Quill In Trembling Hand (PG?) by Ciircee. Set during PoA, Neville needs someone to buy him some Sugar Quills from Hogsmeade. Sad, but with a positive resolution. Long one shot.

Without Dreams (PG-13) by minervafan. Includes a little canon Petunia/Vernon. How Petunia felt about her pregnancy. Cool take on Petunia. One shot.

The Wizard From Outer Space (Meta Remix) (PG) by AJ Hall. This is a remix of a drabble written by Halrloprillalar which is quoted in its entirety at the beginning of the fic. Arthur Weasley stumbles into a con. Written from the POV of one of the fen, it's quite reflective. One shot.

The Wolf (PG-13?) by alibi_factory. Harry and Remus in Grimmauld Place, after OotP. Lyrical. One shot.

Wolfsbane (PG) by Pirate Perian. Sirius and Remus right after the full moon, during OotP. Heartbreaking. One shot.

Wordless (PG?) by penknife. Arthur Weasley thinks about his children, Percy especially. Awesome characterization. One shot.

World's End (PG-13) by bruno. Voldemort discovers the power of atomic bombs. Disturbing and upsetting, but I suppose if Voldemort had his way then this is what things would come to. One shot.

The Wrath of Loki (MOM2) by mosylu. Percy lies in the hospital, near death, and where are the twins? One shot.

Y

A Year Like None Other (M) by aspeninthesunlight. There's a bit of offscreen het. In Harry's 6th year, a letter from Surrey sends him down a path he'd never have walked on his own. Lots of Harry, Snape, and Draco interaction. Very long novel length WIP, updated regularly.

You Never Even Call Me By My Name (PG-13) by Molly Moon. Has flirting and allegations, but is otherwise pure gen. Sirius takes little Nymphadora to the zoo. Cute. One shot.

You That Have Whetted Consciousness (PG) by Sam Vimes/copperbadge. Harry tries to see Lupin. The conclusion is satisfying. One shot.

Your green-eyed boy (R) by Te. Harry figures out how to handle the Dursleys after OotP. Disturbing. One shot.
