Reducing Energy Consumption
Air is drawn in by incorporating air-turbines on the roof and installing air-vents within the house to facilitate air movement. Dead air-spots are removed by installing lourves. Instead of sun-shades on west walls, another option is to construct the house using cavity walls filled with heat-resistant materials. By paying keen attention to building design we can keep any home cooler, dramatically reducing the need for energy-demanding appliances e.g. air-conditioners and fans, and improving the efficiency of fridges.
