*** Risk Assessment Systems: Tools in Use by State ***

Alaska: Alaska Risk Assessment Tools used: Static-99 and SONAR.

Arizona: Arizona Risk Assessment Instrument & Process, prepared for the Arizona Supreme Court in 1998. Massive file (169 pages) takes a few minutes to load.

Colorado: Sexual Predator Risk Assessment Screening Instrument with forms. Large file (61 pages) takes a few minutes to load. Here is just the form. See also "Colorado Progress Report" issued during development of their risk assessment system; excellent information.

Nebraska: Nebraska Risk Assessment Tool used.

New Jersey: New Jersey Risk Assessment Tool. RRAS -Rapid Risk Assessment Tool.

Ohio: Ohio Risk Assessment Tool used.

Oregon: Oregon Sex Offender Assessment Tool used. Unlike any other tool, this one consider BOTH positive and negative factors and characteristics of an offender.

Virginia: Virginia: This is a report prepared by the Virginia Sentencing Commission for the Virginia Supreme Court. The sentencing comm. was asked to study and recommend a Sex Offender Risk Assessment System and forms. This contains quite a bit of useful information, although several of the pictures of different instruments are showing up as a blank. I presume whoever created the PDF file forgot to check its accuracy. The written information is still very valuable.
