We have all heard the cry "ALL sex offenders ARE DANGEROUS;"
there is no doubt, some are, but which ones?

The media and state officials sensationalize ALL sex offenders and dangerousness when a high profile crime is committed, painting a picture that "ALL sex offenders are alike."


But, does the public hear the truth about sex offender dangerousness?
--AND--
Are all sex offenders alike on dangerousness?

That myth unfolds when legislators, and other public officials, vote to have
"Risk Assessment Systems/Methods" designed to decide,
whether and which, sex offenders, are or are not, dangerous?


Glaring proof that -sex offenders are not alike- is found in the penal laws that convicted these offenders! In every state there are multiple sex offense laws. I.e., 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th degree and so on. When offenders are sentenced, the sentence given an offender is tailored to the seriousness of the crime committed and the offender, with aggravating and mitigating circumstances factored into the sentence.

Is there a point when we stop believing the Judges of our Nation?
Who acted upon the laws enacted by our Congress-persons.

So when you hear someone tout that, All sex offenders are alike and dangerous, you know they are speaking against (ignoring, for some personal gain) the legislative intent of the penal laws already enacted. Risk assessment systems are today's way of classifying sex offenders as to their likelihood of re-offense; which does not necessarily equate to dangerousness or violence.
