  • 5/2/2002 - Results from the first four boys and girls meets are all posted on the website. O'Grady Relay results are coming shortly.

  • 4/5/2002 - The outdoor season is upon us, and both the boys and girls teams won their respective meets. Results are available on the results page.

  • 3/3/2002 - Liz Cannone and the Girls 4x200 both place 6th in New England and make the All-New England team.
  • 2/24/2002 - Sherman (6th in the 1600), Cannone (2nd in the 55m), and the Girls 4x200 (State Champions) all qualify for New Englands.
  • 2/17/2002 - Phil Sherman places second in Class L and breaks the indoor mile record (4:26), Liz Cannone wins the 55m, the Girls 4x200 wins the Class, and the Boys SMR qualifies for State Opens. Larry Johnson (55m), Chris Wilkinson (1000m), and Sherman all finished in the top 10 in the class.
  • 2/10/2002 - Congratulations to the boys and girls for strong finishes in the FCIAC Championships, including Phil Sherman who placed 2nd and 3rd in the 1600m and 3200m respectively, Liz Cannone who won the 55m, the Girls 4x240 who made the All-FCIAC team, and the Boys SMR who also medalled.
  • 1/19/2002 - The Boys DMR placed 3rd in the Connecticut Distance Medley Championship at the Yale Invitational with a time of 11:08; Phil Sherman anchored with a remarkable 4:31 mile split. The Girls 4x200 placed third overall in the championship heat. Liz Cannone finished fourth in the 55m dash and Phil Sherman's 9:12 3000m time was good enough for 15th in the competitive field.
  • 1/13/2002 - A few more people made qualifying standards this weekend, including Nick Enthoven who jumped 17' 0.5" in the long jump.
  • 1/6/2009 - A list of qualifiers for championship meets has been updated on the results page; a complete list of results from FCIAC Qualifier #1 also up.
  • 12/16/2001 - Wilton Reindeer Relay results have been posted.
  • Results from the Gateway Gobbler 6 miler are now available
  • 11/9/2001 - Results from the New England Championships are now available.
  • 11/2/2001 - PHIL SHERMAN, 18th place in the CIAC State Open, has qualified for the New England Championships in East Greenwich, RI.
  • 10/27/2001 - The GHS Boys just missed qualifying for State Opens as a team at today's CIAC Class Championships, but Phil Sherman will represent the team at Opens after his 11th place finish in the class.
  • 10/18/2001 - CONGRATULATIONS TO THE BOYS TEAM FOR FINISHING SIXTH IN THE FCIAC, AND TO ALL-FCIAC RUNNER PHIL SHERMAN

  • 9/16/2001 - Wilton Cross Country Invitational Results are now available.
  • 9/15/2001 - The FCIAC meet that was cancelled will be held at Danbury's Terrywile Park on Friday the 28th of September. Congratulations to all of the team members that competed today in the Wilton XC Invitational.

  • 6/6/2001 - Liz Cannone competed in two events at State Opens, and placed second (200m) and third (100m). She also joined Erika Detjen, Christina Cannone, and Lara Levine on the 4 X 100m. The relay team placed sixth. All of these performances were good enough to qualify our competitors for New Englands, but due to the event format chosen by New Hampshire (the host state), Liz will only run the 100m. State Open events can be found at mysportsresults.com. They will be posted here in a day or two.

  • 5/25/2001 - FCIAC RESULTS HAVE BEEN POSTED
  • 5/20/2001 - Girls FCIAC Heat Sheets are available on the results page.
  • 5/10/2001 - Results from all five boys and girls meets are now available on the results page.
  • 5/7/2001 - GHS Freshman Invitational Results have been posted. Two School Freshman records were set: Donald Gustavson added six inches to his pole vault record, and Kellan Nins beat the old record by two feet.
  • 5/4/2001 - Results for all four boys and girls regular season FCIAC meets are available on the results page. Liz Cannone broke the Varsity and FCIAC record in the 100m on Tuesday in Stamford. At the GHS Freshman Invitational, Larry Johnson won both the 100m and the 200m in impressive fashion. He and Kellan Ninns, who won all three jumping events, were named co-best of track and best of field respectively. Patrick Martin's 5:02 mile finish places him third on the team. He placed third in the race. Overall, the Cardinal Freshman showed the league that they will be a powerful force in the FCIAC for the next four years.
  • 5/1/2001 - Boys meet results have been posted.
  • 4/25/2001 - Girls meet results have been posted.
  • 4/24/2001 - Tomorrow will be the second meet in Cardinal Stadium in two days. The girls team was defeated by FCIAC Indoor Champion New Canaan (results to be posted soon). The boys will host the Staples and Danbury on Wednesday. An exciting meet is guaranteed; Staples edged Danbury to win the FCIAC Indoor Championship. Both teams won their respective classes and Danbury defeated Staples in the State Open meet. Danbury was also the State and New England Cross Country Champion, and were ranked #10 in the country in Harrier Magazine
  • 4/11/2001 - Results from the seconds girls and boys FCIAC outdoor meets have been posted
  • 4/9/2001 - NEWSPAPER ARTICLES HAVE BEEN MOVED TO THE MEDIA/LINKS/CONTACT PAGE. Results from the Boys meet as well as partial Outdoor Track Rosters have been posted. Outdoor Team Records have been added. They are available by clicking on the link on the left side of the page.
  • 4/7/2001 - Results from the first girls outdoor meet have been posted on the results page, as has a newspaper article below. Winners from the girls and boys meets include Liz Cannone (100m, 200m), the Girls 4 X 100m relay (L. Cannone, Lara Levine, C. Cannone, Detjen), Mike Raffaele (1600m, 3200m), Chris Wilkinson (5000m), Todd Medich (110m hurdles), Josh Wood (Javelin), Phil Salvo (Pole Vault), Josh Mertz (300m hurdles), and Steve Resnick (Triple Jump). There were many other great individual performances, including a new freshman 300m hurdles record set by Margot Fairbanks, a sub 6-minute mile by Caitlin Breen, and superb sprinting and field events by newcomers to the Boys team.
  • 3/22/2001 - The Outdoor Track schedules have been updated. Another news paper article has been posted below.
  • 3/15/2001 - Archives of the National Scholastic Championships are available online. There is a link to the video on the pictures/video page. Important: to see the Greenwich Girls' SMR, you must skip to the fourth segment and fast forward to about 1:04:00 in the segment.
  • 3/3/2001: Results from the New England Meet have been posted on the results page. Congratulations to the Girls 4 X 200 team and Liz Cannone. Liz won her first two heats, and came in second overall, 0.02 seconds behind New England Champion Patrice Gaymon of Bridgeport Central. The relay came in eighth place overall, winning their heat by nearly four seconds with a time of 1:49.58.

  • 2/27/2001: Results from all of the FCIAC Developmental Meets and from the FCIAC West meet have been added to the results page. Liz Cannone is running the 55m tonight at Eastern States in New York City. There will be mandatory informational meetings for Outdoor Track on Wednesday the 28th of February (Boys) and on Thursday the 1st of March (Girls).

  • 2/24/2001: The Girs team tied for 15th place overall today at the State Open with 11 points. Liz Cannone placed second in the 55 meter dash, while the 4 X 200 meter relay and the 1600 meter SMR placed fifth and sixth respectively. Results are available on the results page.
  • 2/18/2001: Another Greenwich Time article has been posted at the bottom of the page.
  • 2/17/2001: Congratulations to all GHS runners who ran in the CIAC Class L Championships last night. Liz Cannone placed second in the 55m, Anna Wolfgang placed sixth in the 500m, Megan Reimers placed fourth in the 1000m, and the Girls 4 X 200 Relay came in fourth place in their respective events. On the boys side, Mike Raffaele placed fifth in the 3200m for Greenwich. The Boys Champion was Danbury, and the Girls Champion was Norwich Free Academy. Results have been posted on the results page.
  • 2/12/2001: A lot of Cross Country pictures were added today courtesy of Mike Raffaele, and a copy of the Greenwich Time article from last Sunday can be found on the News Articles section of this page.
  • The Boys placed 10th overall, and the Girls placed 8th at the FCIAC Championships.
