The previous year had been witness to a number of intercollegiate events being hosted by the colleges catering to the BMS course. One such activity undertaken by the students of the BMS class of Bhavans college was an intercollegiate workshop entitled "Emerging Opportunities For The BMS Students In The New Millennium" on the 24th of December, 1999.

The workshop was addressed by two senior managers: Mr. M.S. Rao, CEO of Easy Call Paging India Ltd. and by Mr. Neelkanthan, DGM of Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd. The 80 member strong audience sat in rapt attention for over two and a half hours as the two speakers explored and propagated the various opportunities that lay in store for the budding entrepreneurs in the next century.
