Two good things about seeing Suprasod last Saturday night: 1. I got to se bombjack again, and 2. Suprasod only played four songs. That was enough for me.

The music was boring and the singer didn't quite get the guttural sound right. The only thing I unequivocally liked was the drummer. He doesn't do anything fancy, but he feels the music, and that makes his playing worth listening to. It didn't help that the singer got so frustrated at the lack of enthusiasm that he felt the urge to spit out "What, you guys waiting for girls and shit?" Grrr!

To be fair, the audience really sucked and that contributed to my own lack of enthusiasm towards the band. Really, the singer's voice is not that bad when he's not growling or trying to sound gruff. It's kinda nice. I actually enjoyed his singing during Rise Above. The bassist is competent - nothing special, but certainly not horrible. And, like I said, the drummer was pretty good.

On the whole, they simply sounded ok. I didn't get excited or energetic or mellow or anything. They sounded like a group of guys that knew how to play their respective instruments and decided to jam together. The only thing that truly bothered me was, again, the obvious frustration from the singer. This is show biz, kid, you're gonna have a bad night. Deal with it.

Rating: I'll have to see them again. Maybe it was the atmosphere that hindered their playing.

The Boys:

Mark: Lead singer and guitarist. Please, stop growling.
Mark: Drummer. Pretty good.
Anthony: Lead guitarist.
Rob: Bassist.
