Cascades presents the exclusive Shastina Virtual Matrix. Shastina
rises to 12,330 feet, making it the third highest Cascade summit.
The traditional route climbs Cascade Gulch, a steep drainage cleft
running between Shasta and Shastina's steep intersecting slopes.
This route is much less frequented than the main Shasta summit,
but its remote and rugged nature make it a destination worth visiting.
Long day climbs or camping at 9000 feet in Hidden Valley are both
