Hotaru almost died along with her mother when she was younger but was saved when her father asked Pharoh Ninety for help. This is what caused Profesor Tomoe to become evil. She recalls her father and Chibi Usa (Rini) when she gets Mistress Nine out of her body.

Hotaru is very weak and often tires out. She is very shy, so she doesn't have many friends. Most of the children stay away from her because of her ability to heal, which they think is wierd. She befriends Chibi Usa once when Chibi Usa almost loses her hat and Hotaru goes after it. She even uses her healing power to heal a wound on Chibi Usa. Chibi Usa is very friendly to her,and Hotaru really appreciates their friendship.

Like I said, she is rarely seen since she is turned into a baby. But in SMStars, she starts to rapidly grow, and is awakened as Sailor Saturn again with all her memories. It is later found out that Galaxia was the one to cause her to be revived, and who broke the seal for Neherenia and released her, which caused Saturn to grow and regain her memories. This was really only so that Galaxia could have Hotaru's star seed. Saturn gets it taken away along with Pluto by evil Neptune and Uranus. As Sailor Saturn she is very strong. She can destroy the earth with one whip of the glaive and is therefore called the Silent Messiah. But most of her attacks are really only used in desperate situations, and hardly carried out since they would kill her too. But she still proves very useful in a fight. In every major battle, she threatens to kill the opponent by invoking death. Neherenia laughed her, and dared her to do it, knowing it would kill her too (she thought that would stop her). Saturn began her attack, Silent Glaive Surprise, but Chibi Moon stopped her.
Love life: She is a little too young to have a love life. I can't recall anytime that she was *in love* with anyone.

In the manga she is part cyborg.She is very powerful and seems to know a lot more about crisises before they come then most of the other senshi.
