Hunting with Empty Bars
- Start by generating a "base" level of weapon
and armor. Kill something easy just to get a little to work with. You might
even want to buy some cheap weapon or armor to sacrifice to get a start.
The first two levels of weapon sacs are very easy to get in general, so you
should strive to fill up all of them for your target form first of all.
Remember, all weapon shards count the same, so you'll get as much out of
filling a low slot as for a high one. Take the easy ones first to make
combat that much easier for the hard ones.
- Build up armor. Locate foes with good armor and
kill as many as you can. Sacrifice all the armor and get your armor level
as high as you can. Unlike weapon quality, armor is always running out,
so getting at least a few forms' worth is a good idea.
Experience and Money
- Establish foes for different goals. If a foe has good
armor, kill it so you can sacrifice the armor. If a foe has expensive gear,
sell anything you get from it. If a foe is good for both purposes, use it
for whichever you need more at the time.
- Alternate foe types. Switch back and forth from "armor"
foes to "money" foes. This will allow you to keep a good level
of armor while still making money. If you don't have enough cha to earn
money effectively on your own, do this in parties with someone who does
get good prices.
- Sell weapons. Don't bother to sacrifice a weapon
unless you really need it or it is very tough for you to get and you want
it for backup. Since low shard sacs are generally easy to get, you are
better off selling the weapons for their money. However, if you are trying
to raise guild level very quickly, you should sacrifice as much as possible
to get the guild level credit. Just make sure to do this at the altar in
the guild; sacs in the field do not add to gxp.
The most important piece of advice is to hunt in packs whenever
you can. This is a very good way to build up initial armor and weapons and
to kill larger foes. Lycanthropes are pack hunters by nature, so take advantage
of it.
