What is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters is a non-profit educational organization designed to help you develop or improve your skills in thinking, speaking and listening. The principles you will learn are basic to any form of communication, whether you are speaking to one person or one thousand persons.

Club meetings provide a safe environment in which to learn new skills.

During meetings we learn and apply various skills. We learn by practicing speaking during the completion of various parts in the program, called roles. An important aspect of the program is receiving immediate feedback from your peers, people who are at the meetings for the very same reason you will be. Participation is a key ingredient to success.

Guidance and support, materials and manuals are readily available to every member. Areas that we focus on are speaking, listening, communication, leadership, conducting meetings, training and management.

Each person completes his or her program at his or her own pace. All meetings are organized and run by the club members.
