my money

In this lesson we learned the importance of managing money, by using excel spreadsheets.  We used three sheets linked together: a paycheck sheet showing how much we make and actually get to take home after taxes; a budget sheet showing how much money we allot to different bills and personal expenses, this sheet also shows us how much we have left over after all bills are paid, (if any), and the third sheet is an investment sheet showing how much money we could make in interest if we invested our leftover money each month into Vanguard.  The goal of this lesson is to teach us how to be more aware of where our money is going and to be more responsible in spending it.  Having a goal in mind, like saving up to retire early, is important in order to actually make a plan come to life, instead of watching it slip by.  These spreadsheets help us to visualize what the future may hold if we stick to the plan.
