NEWS and OTHER EXCITING HAPPENINGS!!!!

APRIL 2004: ONLINE SEASON TWO ANNOUNCED!!!!

4/16/04: A few words of thanks and plans for the future.

The first “season” of free online GMS LEGION episodes can safely be considered the most successful comics venture I’ve undertaken so far. More unique visitors came to the site between January 19 and April 5 than have ever actually purchased comics in the past. I appreciate that so many people have been curious and I hope you left entertained.

The second season has now been scheduled for the summer, and will feature 15 episodes over the course of fourteen weeks. These are:

THESE SOUNDS (June 28). This one-part story was previously published in GMS Legion Book 13. Since many of the subplots to be unveiled in the ongoing story refer back to this, it seems like a good idea to give new readers the chance to play a little catch-up.
DARK WALTON episodes 8-13 (July 6 – Aug. 9). The concluding half of this epic adventure.
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE CLASS OF ’86? episodes 1-5 (Aug. 16 – Sep. 13). Reprising the first adventure from the current continuity, possibly with some redrawn panels and pages. This story was first presented in GMS Legion Book 4 in 1998.
HOMECOMING episodes 1-2 (Sep. 20). A never-before-published adventure, this two-parter takes place just after DO THE TEEN THEENG in the continuity and precedes the events in DARK WALTON.
DESTRUCTION OF A DUESENBERG (Sep. 27). Also previously unpublished, this eight-page adventure sees the Enforcer dealing with a mystery that hits a little close to home.

Episodes of the GMS Legion are tentatively planned to go online in similar batches twice yearly, mixing new adventures, classic cases and the 15 or so unprinted strips which precede Dark Walton. Most of the earlier episodes are still in print for readers to purchase; navigate around on the links at left to find out what's available and how to order it!

2/25/04: I've checked my stats over at geocities and I've set a new record! More unique visitors have come to the GMS Legion pages to read the new online comic adventures in February 2004 than any other month!

Thanks so much for coming by to check out my comics. If you haven't yet, there are seven episodes - about 56 pages - online for you to see, plus a whole pile of print adventures you can buy, including the spectacular DRUNK TANK anthology. I will be announcing the lineup for the next "season" of online episodes - there will be 14 - next month.

2/2/04: DRUNK TANK, a 90-page, digest-sized anthology featuring new and previously-published work by Ed Hill, Dave Merrill, Shaindle Minuk and myself, was released this past weekend at FLUKE 2004 in Athens. My contributions are "Sport of Kings" from the GMS Legion Millennium Special and featuring a new first page, and "The Day My Friend Might Have Almost Started World War Three," a thrilling tale about the shot which almost brought the Cold War to a grisly end. DRUNK TANK is only $3.00 and you can get your own copy by ordering it from the Order Page.

2/2/04: The new online-comic project seems to be going well; more people visited the Legion site in the last two weeks than any time in the last eleven months! DO THE TEEN THEENG, a four-part story which has appeared online before but only briefly, and never in print, is next up for your viewing pleasure, with one episode apiece today and the 9th, and two episodes on the 16th.

1/19/04: In addition to the exciting news below about new LEGION episodes available online for the first time in almost two years, I'm pleased to announce that I have another pair of comic projects available in print shortly. I learned last week that my submission to FLUKE 2004 has been accepted. This two-page strip, called SPECIAL FLUKE FUN GAME, will appear in the compilation anthology comic given to attendees of FLUKE 2004 in Athens. Also, I will have two strips, one of them the rarely-seen GMS LEGION story SPORT OF KINGS, in DRUNK TANK, a new anthology full of great stuff by Dave Merrill, Shaindle Minuk and Ed Hill. DRUNK TANK will be released in a couple of weeks; I'll have more details about how to order that soon.
