12-11-00 - The poll has finally been updated!  The results were that most of you were happy with FFIX, 50% said it was one of the best, 25% said it was good, but not really good and the rest of you haven't touched the thing!

To see what I thought of FFIX click here: www.rpgamer.com/games/upc...view1.html

The new poll:  What's your favorite type of RPG?

12-7-00 - Well the poll has been broken for a couple days now.  It says it should be back up by Wednesady at 11 AM, but we all know how true that was...

More Dream Quest Progress, not to much, but more than before!  And I archived more news.  Fun huh!

Go to the Message Board!

12-5-00 - Added a link to RPG Wolfpac.  They're another group similar to EV Soft except they make games of ALL types, from computer games to pen and paper RPGs.  Looks really cool.  Check them out here.

12-2-00 - Alrighty!  With college papers finally out of the way I worked on Dream Quest some so it's progress page has no been updated.  I just bought a Dreamcast yesterday along with Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Powerstone 2 and Skies of Arcadia.  Add in the fact that I still haven't beat FF IX and you'll see that I still have stuff to keep me from making the game ;)  Don't worry!  I'll still work plenty hard.  Maybe Act I will be ready for Christmas, but don't hold your breath.

Also updated on the Dream Quest page is a list of items, weapons and armor.  There will be much more, but this is what's in so far.

11-28-00 - The poll has been updated.  It was split directly down the middle between console gaming being better and depending on the genre as to which is better while PC gaming didn't get a vote.

New Poll:  What do you think of FF IX?

11-27-00 - Grendal has given me an update for his site so I got it up!  His new game, Haven, will be released in two parts.  One letting you play as rebels, the other as a company ruling the world.  The intro to the company's part intro is released and can be found on the downloads page.

11-21-00 - The poll has been updated.  It seems most of you want an over priced DVD player, I mean, uh Playstation 2 :P, Gamecube in second and X-Box and Dreamcast each got one vote.

Next poll: Which is better, PC or console gaming?

I'll be gone on Thanksgiving for the next three days so no work will get done by me.  But I did get a new message board up and running.  Ohhhh... it's so pretty looking!

11-17-00 - I updated the Dream Quest Progress on it's page.  Also Grendal has given me the EV Soft installer to tinker with so it'll be coming your way with all up coming releases!

11-14-00 - Grendal has informed me that the new EV Soft installer is almost ready to rock.  This baby will compress files down to size so you 56k'ers can handle the download and also works really fast!  He's also been working on Haven allot so he'll be updating soon!

I'm still working on Dream Quest, don't worry about it!

11-12-00 - Alrighty!  Updating the poll just a little late.  But the results where that most of you haven't even played the new Zelda game, but those of you that have played it seemed to lean more to the "Little Worse Then OoT".

Next Poll: Which one of the next generation consoles do you plan on owning?

11-8-00 - Just an update to let you know we are still alive!  I've got more work on Dream Quest done and still working to get up.  While your waiting take the weekly poll!  Hopefully the first act of Dream Quest will be up before the end of the year.

11-3-00 - Grendal sent me this today:

'Hi! Grendel here. Sorry about being slow updating my section of the site, (not to mention Haven, which is going to have its own Flash powered page, with a full menu system :) but I'm in charge of a clan for Legends Of Cosrin now too. You may have heard of it. Anyway, Haven will still continue although the page won't be updated as regularly.'

And the same goes for me as well with Dream Quest, I'm working!  I'll get updates out to you ASAP, but for now you'll have to wait.

The poll has been updated, the last poll ended up with Bulbasaur and Scyther tied at first and Pikachu in second.

The new poll: What do you think The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

10-31-00 - Happy Halloween!  Grendal is back and has begun work on his new RPG as well as work on the universal EV Soft installer.  When you see this puppy it means your getting nothing but sweet EV Soft love on your computer!

10-30-00 - A quick note on Dream Quest has been added to it's page.  Also I archieved more of the news for all you modem users out there ;)

10-26-00 - The Poll is over.  Chrono won with 3 votes while Cloud and Ness each got a vote for second.

New poll, which is the coolest pokemon.

10-25-00 - More moving as SP Hosting just takes us down without warning or reason.  So we're on geocities because it's realiable and has a fast FTP server.  If you guys have any suggestions as to where the site should be hosted let me know.  As this time I'm not interested in paying for hosting this site.

So the new address is http://www.oocities.org/ev_soft.  And as usual, http://evsoft.cjb.net will point to the most recent page.

Mid-terms are up right now so no new news about Dream Quest for at least a week, sorry guys!

10-23-00 - Grendal is taking about a two week break from EV Soft.  His new game, Haven, has been announced.  It's a game about a Corporation that rules the world and makes it great for everyone to live in and these rebels who would rather have freedom then guaranteed happiness.  Sounds really cool!  But don't expect any work on it for a while.

Dream Quest hasn't been worked on all weekend, I was back home watching my siblings in a play, but now I'm back at it!

10-18-00 - Put more info on the Dream Quest page including progress and uploaded a whole bunch of character information, bios and pictures.  Not much info is there because I don't want to spoil anything for you guys! ;)  So check that out!

A day late the poll has been change the Results were

Final Fantasy in first with 6 votes, Dragon Quest in second with 3 votes, The Legend of Zelda and Seiken Densetsu tied for third with 2 votes and lastly Phantasy Star in last with one pity vote.

The new poll, best hero in an RPG!

And finally a new host has been found for evsoft's huge files for download.  You can still find links for them right here on this page, but if you'd like you can go to http://evsoft.bizland.com and you'll find our downloads page there as well.

10-17-00 - Grendal has uploaded some DLLs for those of you having problems installing his game.  Just download them and you should be fine.  Grendal is also working on a new game so get ready for some more great effects!  Also fixed a couple things here and there ;)

Also it's been brought to my attention that Grendal's game does not include the RTP (Run Time Package) so for all of you that have no idea what that is, or you just need it, you can download it here.

10-15-00 - The playable intro for Dream Quest is up for download.  It's only about 15-20 minutes, but it'll give you a taste of what's coming up and set up the story plot.  I've also got the on-line instruction manual up with the  basic controls.  Go to the Dream Quest page here!

10-14-00 - Coonman here giving you another prompting to d/l Grendal's game.  The Graphics are amazing!  The battle animations are great too!  And the sound effects are awesome!  It's only about a 2 and a half hour game, so give it a whirl!  You can go to Grendal's page: here!

10-12-00 - The poll has been updated.  The old poll had Crono Cross and "Whatever EV Soft puts out" tied at first place.  And Aidyn Chronicles and Zelda MM tied at second.  So here's a new one, the best RPG series (console, not PC.  Sorry all you Ultima addicts!)

And much bigger news!  Destruction of the planet is complete!  That's right!  EV Soft's first game is ready for you to download in all it's full glory!  Head on over to Grendal's page to pick that up ASAP!

10-11-00 - EV Soft is back! The truth is that Island Merchant was giving me a huge amount of trouble and so I dumped it. I will never release the demo version, I don't want some demo just floating around, I want full games. Grendal has informed me that he is about ready to release his first RPG on EV Soft Productions' label. My attention has been moved onto my new project which has no name yet but we can call it: "Dream Quest" for now.

9-12-00: A day late (a buck short I'm writing no report, j/k) but here is the demo of Island Merchant.  It's most likely as bug filled as Sonny Bono's shorts but that's why I need you to report the bugs in the thread I created on the Message Board!  (Ignore all links!  I just found out my web-server sucks!  They won't let me have files on their server bigger then 1 Meg, which sucks cause Island Merchent is almost 12 megs.  So I'm off find yet another server.)

9-11-00: The demo for Island Merchant is near completion.  I may have it up later today acctually (which would be good because today is the release date!)!  You will most likely find most of the errors because the programer play testing a game never works!  Also updated the FAQs with Sound and Variable questions.

9-8-00: Welcome to our new server, on Sphosting.com.  Internations, our old server, has screwed me over one to many times by first have downtime and then by forcefully placing ads on my pages.  Hopfully Sphosting will be better.  Of course http://evsoft.cjb.net will always point to the correct page if you'd like to link or bookmark us directly then just use this link http://sphosting.com/evsoft/. If you find any broken links let me know.

9-7-00: The demo of Island Merchant is finished and beginning private Alpha testing.  We'll keep you updated.

9-6-00: Added a link to RM2K Madness in the links section.

9-5-00: More Progress on Island Merchant.

9-4-00: Sorry for the lack of updates!  I've updated the FAQs, added more and made it easier to navigate. Also updated the Island Merchant page.  I've also begun on the Island Merchant On-line manual/guide to help out people that play the game.  And due to the extreme popularity of the poll I've made a new one, now all three of you vote on it!

8-29-00: Recently Ascii has been giving Don (the translator of RPG Maker 2000) some problems. As such I have removed the RPG Maker downloads from my server. Sorry everyone.

8-28-00: Welcome Grendel to the staff! He's the newest member to the EV Soft Team and his game looks promising! I'll give you more info about his game as he gives it to me and of course you can always check the Destruction of the Planet page for the latest info about the newest game in EV Soft's line-up.  I've also updated the Games and Mission pages to reflect this change.  Welcome aboard Grendel!

8-27-00:   I've uploaded RPG Maker 2K, so feel free to download it and get going on your own RPGs.  Don't ask me how to use it until you've tried it out yourself and have read all the FAQs at Don's Site.  Then post on the message board and I'll be more then happy to help.  Some day I'll write a real FAQ doc, but if I did that Island Merchant would never get done!  I just got back and won't do any work today, I'm exhausted (yes, exhausted from vacation!) so I figured I'd give you RPG Maker 2000 to keep you happy!8-14-00: Island Merchant is currently in debugging phase before it's demo is released to the public.

8-20-00: It's official, I'll be gone on vacation starting tomorrow until about August 28th.  So don't expect the demo until after then.  Also for those that are/have sent me e-mail I most likely won't be able to get back to you until the 28th unless you contact me tonight.  Also Thank You to everyone who visited the site!  In just five days this page (which isn't registered on any search engine yet) got 60 hits!  Thanks so much!  Oh yeah!  And the games section was updated!

8-19-00: I've added a new section to the games section that tells exactly what's been implemented in each game and how far each game is along.

8-19-00: By popular request (ok so only one person!) Island Merchant will have a demo, check out the games page to learn all the details.

8-16-00:  Well as you can tell the Demo for island merchant is not up.  Well I've decided to not release a demo and go straight for the full version.  If you would like a demo, contact me some how.  Either form mail, e-mail, or the message board and I'll make a fully playable demo and have it up for download.

8-15-00:  All of the work on Island Merchant was lost last night.  First I made a critical error and was forced to start all over again from my last save.  Then an electric storm hit and knocked out the power and I lost it all again.  Now I don't even wanna look at that game!  So there has been a delay in the release of the demo (I feel like Nintendo when I say that!)  Also to keep me away from that cursed game I have begun the FAQ section of the site for all of you RPG Maker 2000 Users.
