Note to the reader: All these pictures were taken on December 29 and 30 of 1999. The civil disobedience camps were all dismantled by the Navy during the May 4, 2000 arrests. However, the civil disobedience campaign continues. Puerto Ricans and foreigners alike constantly enter the restricted área. In the end justice will prevail.  ¡Paz para Vieques! (Peace for Vieques!)
This is the house in which the protesters at "Monte David" live. Note that nothing grows in here because of the destruction the bombing has caused.
Military garbage that has been collected by the "Monte David" protesters.
Beautiful view of the coral reef, (and their craters) the mountain in which the Navy observation post is located, the crosses, a Puerto Rican flag (to the left) and the incredible blue waters of the tropics.
This area has a few tanks and other discarded materials.
Other view of the sea from "Monte David."
The tents in which the protesters sleep.
This tank has been repeatedly bombed with depleted uranium bullets. It is right next to where all the protesters sleep. This place has the highest detected radiation levels in Vieques.
