.... a little about me and some photos

From birth to my mid fourties I lived as a male. Throughout that time I knew something was very wrong. I knew that I should have been born female.

It was a simple, solid fact, but I spent most of my life pretending I did not have this desperate need not to be male. Eventually the barriers broke I began the slow and difficult process of learning to be what was for me the correct gender. Having lived most of my life as male I dont claim to be a woman and prefer to be known as a trangendered female.

I am proud to be a transgender person, I believe we are special and privilaged eople, despite the bigotry and misunderstanding we face.

Being trans has an impact on your social, business, economic and medical wellbeing. Though I am pleased to say that I see more and more trans people who are now able to transition with the full support of both their employers and their colleagues. This is happening in all walks of life.

Recent transitions at work include University Lecturers, Vicars, Fork Lift Truck drivers, Bus Drivers, a Solicitor, Unemployed people, a Surgeon, Sales Reps, the Burser of an Oxford University College, a HGV driver, several people working in Computer hard/software and several University Students. All now living and working/studying in another gender. I can also add 2 Retired people to that list, one a retired car dealer the other from the armed forces. There are many others too.

I know as many again who are Trans but still living in their original gender. At present around 5 people a week are undergoing gender surgery in the UK. Transitions are taking place at all ages from teens through to people in their sixties. There are also many more Female to Male transitions in recent years.

I list all this to make three points

1) There are many more of us than you might think and

2) We transgender peopel live in all societies, in all cultures, we are rich and we are poor, and we have existed throughout history.

3) The person working next to you may one day change gender!

If you want to find out more about the issues surrounding transgender or have personal gender issues and need information, take a look at my Links page which will take you to several useful local national and international organisations.

Looking Sleepy ?

My dislikes; there arn't many, but they include - machismo, football, cricket, the smell of cigarettes and bad manners.

If you have a naturally feminine nature, I would live to hear from you. Especially if you are appreciative of the arts, fun to be with, and a non-smoker, why not email me right now with a photo.

I love Emails from happy girls!

I love this quote, its not about transgender, its about everyone, but I it says what I feel about the joy and fear of living a transgender lifestyle, and how we should face the world

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the World. There's nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others"

Marianna Williamson (once quoted in one of Nelson Mandela's speeches).
