  • Plan all recruitment events, formal and informal
  • Order needed supplies from national headquarters through chapter treasurer
 
Scholarship Committee
  • Promote a high standard of scholarship
  • Design and implement a yearly scholarship program
  • Make recommendations for members falling below the required average
  • Assist in creating an environment conducive to study
  • Provide access to resources for academic assistance
  • Assist chapter members in making applications for ASA scholarships
  • Recognize chapter members who excel academically

Member Education Committee
  • Review the calendar of membership events
  • Plan the Ruby/Big sister events
  • Evaluate the immediate past new member education period
  • Work with the ritual chairman and the ritual committee when planning Star Circle activities for the Pearl Member Program
 
Finance Committee
  • Use the Budget Workbook to prepare the annual chapter budget for recommendation to the chapter
  • Assist the chapter officers and committee chairmen in monitoring expenses to meet the chapter budget
  • Assist the chapter treasurer in tracking of member accounts
 
Parliamentarian
  • Serve as chairman of bylaws committee
  • Prepare necessary changes to the chapter bylaws
  • Instruct the chapter in correct parliamentary procedure
  • Assist the president in maintaining a businesslike meeting atmosphere
  • Keep a current notebook for ready reference
  • Instruct the chapter membership and new members in proper parliamentary procedure

Standards Chairman
  • Serve as chairman of the Standards Board
  • Appoint the members of the Standards Board
  • Call and conduct meetings of the Standards Board
  • Follow due process procedures
  • Educate chapter members on the meaning and implementation of special status, senior status, request for termination, and due process
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of Standards Board's meetings and action regarding discipline cases
  • Submit all requests for special status to national headquarters
  • Review excused and unexcused absences
  • Maintain accurate and complete participation records
  • Set and collect fines with chapter approval
  • Assist treasurer in collecting unpaid dues and bills
  • Assist the scholarship chairman in placing those members on scholastic probation
  • Develop a spirit of sisterhood by promoting a caring, thoughtful, considerate chapter
  • Advise the nominating committee of any member not meeting minimum requirements for holding a chapter office

Social Committee
  • Plan social programs which stress sisterhood and ASA heritage
  • Coordinate social activities with other Greek and university organizations
  • Ensure that all social programs follow the bylaws, policies and procedures of ASA and the university regulations
  • Keep a current and complete notebook

Philanthropic Chairman
  • Plan and direct philanthropic activities
  • Encourage total chapter participation
  • Be responsible for the chapter's support of Special Olympics and the S. June Smith Center
  • Request that the treasurer send an annual contribution to the National Scholarship Fund and the S. June Smith Center through the ASA Foundation
  • Maintain an up-to-date file with copies of past philanthropic events, current year's planned activities, materials pertaining to Special Olympics and a list of state and local Special Olympics directors, and materials pertaining to the S. June Smith Center
  • Educate the chapter on the importance of philanthropy
Audrey Suarez
Collegiate Chapter Editor/Historian
  • Submit articles, feature stories and photographs to The Phoenix
  • Write a detailed chapter history
  • Coordinate and arrange for a photographer to be hired for significant chapter events
  • Supervise and keep up-to-date the chapter archives
  • Keep a scrapbook of Phoenix articles, press clippings, photographs, nametags, newsletters, letters and other items of interest for display at such times as recruitment and parents' day

Public Relations
  • Develop and execute the public relations plan
  • Ensure the chapter's public relations plan presents a positive image
  • Establish priorities in meeting the needs and interest of ASA on the campus and in the community
  • Review articles prior to publication in conjunction with the Vice President of Public Relations and Recruitment
  • Educate the chapter membership on the total picture of its public relations plan
  • Monitor and evaluate chapter public relations plan and the chapter image
  • Handle all chapter publicity by learning about and using all media
  • Work with the collegiate chapter editor/historian on alumnae newsletters
