Youth Outreach Day

Zeta Tau Omega reaches out to YOUTH to empower them to be outstanding leaders of tomorrow

Middle and high school students gathered with enthusiasm and a hunger to receive valuable information regarding health and nutrition, safety, career education, budgeting, relationships, and skills for success. There were outstanding speakers for small group sessions, entertainment, fun games and prizes galore. Special sessions were also provided for parents and elementary school level students.

Highlighted was Dr. Fairest Hill, motivational speaker, who held the students captive as he shared practical tips for “Building Leaders for the 21st Century.”

Fashionetta

Highlighting glamour, style, grace, and charm, sorors of Zeta Tau Omega presented our annual Fashionetta Luncheon featuring the Vogue Esquire models of Chicago, Illinois.

Following a delicious lunch, sorors and guests watched with admiration and delight as professional models took to the stage to show off the latest in fashions and trends by world-renown top fashion designers. This event marked the culmination of our Fashionetta scholarship fundraiser. Contestants in the categories of Little Miss Fashionetta, Junior Miss Fashionetta and Miss Fashionetta were presented and crowned.

Race For the Cure

Sorors pulled out their walking shoes and gathered on Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach with thousands of other individuals for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Sorors participated with enthusiasm in this event which helps to raise funds for breast cancer research.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Sorors recognize and are deeply grateful for our many blessings and bounties. We feel a profound need to share our blessings and bounties with others.

Thanksgiving baskets loaded with turkey and all the trimmings were distributed to four families in West Palm and Riviera Beach. Recipients were also given food certificates to Publix Super Market to purchase additional items. Receiving families were thankful for our generosity. The children bubbled with joy and the parents were delighted.

AKA Coat Day

In an effort to provide for the homeless and needy persons of the community and to assist with their warmth and comfort during chilly winter weather, Sorors collected and distributed coats, jackets, sweaters, and other clothing items. The activity was held at St. Patrick Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach in conjunction with their Soup Kitchen Program.

Recipients were very grateful for the clothing items to help them through the cold days and nights ahead.

Prayer Breakfast

Sorors reverently and humbly recognize the source of our strength and accomplishments and the power that makes possible everything that we say and do. To God be the glory!

Coming together in a group setting to give honor and glory to Him is only an extension of our daily gratefulness and awe. At our annual Thelma R Jones Prayer Breakfast, we prayed together listened to words of inspiration and received spiritual expressions through songs and dances of praise.

Our guests, who supported us so faithfully throughout the year, were welcomed in love and appreciation, served a scrumptious breakfast and extended warm fellowship.

Bell Ringers

The spirit of Christmas permeates throughout Zeta Tau Omega. Sharing that spirit with others is a rewarding experience as Sorors merrily ring bells in support of the Salvation Army as they solicit funds to help needy families during the Holiday Season and throughout the year.

Jamaican Project

Zeta Tau Omega’s commitment to service and assistance extends beyond the borders of the United States. Through Soror Ceressa Ward’s involvement in providing health services and distributing health kits to residents on the island of Jamaica, Sorors participated by contributing financially to the project and giving support and encouragement to Soror Ceressa and her team of providers.

Emerald Elegance Ball

Taking a moment out to celebrate a year of service while also raising funds to support our scholarship program, Zeta Tau Omega Sorors spend an evening mixing and mingling with our supporters in a beautiful social setting. Members and guests spend an elegant evening socializing, networking, dancing, dining, and enjoying the superb musical collection of the Ruby Baker Band.

Mother Daughter Luncheon

Recognizing the true essence of the Mother-Daughter bond, sorors celebrate this connection with a special luncheon in eachother’s honor. Held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, the event focused on mother-daughter relationships, spotlighted our scholarship recipients for the 2003-2004 school year, and stirred the audience with sound advice and a punchy delivery.

In addition, Sorors were honored and awarded plaques for their outstanding community involvement.
