Ocean View Uitvlugt is a small village on the West Coast of Demerara filled with memories and tradition. It's a village on the horizon where "Bumpa Ball" stars are born. Having played victoriously all across Guyana, the Ocean View Softball Cricket team was nicknamed the "King of Bumpa Ball". In 1996 a group of cricketers hailing from Ocean View Uitvlugt decided to mirror the "King of Bumpa Ball" in New York. The team was then called Ocean View Waves, which played in the Caribbean Softball Association (CSA). In its first year of playing softball cricket the Ocean View Waves cricket team caused panic and agony among the other teams playing in the CSA League. They crushed every obstacle that was thrown at them and rode to the finals in grand fashion. However, as time progressed, 'Ocean View' was dropped since players were recruited from different parts of Guyana. Today one can hear the cries of many calling for the resurrection of the Ocean View Waves cricket team. The team is currently registered under the West Indian Softball Association (WISA) league and is sponsored by Chateau Royale, a division of Ahmad Group of Companies.

This year, however, after implementing much needed changes in the composition of our team, a stronger team has emerged. We have recruited quite a few all-rounders who are eager to give 110%. Bowling and batting averages of these players are incredibly increasing. The goal of our team is quite simple, play disciplined and competitive softball cricket and have fun, but "fun only comes by winning.
