I will properly train my dog.

I will always provide adequate, high quality food, and fresh water for my dog.

I will observe all state, city, county or township laws.

I will keep my dog on a leash or in a fenced yard, never allowing it to roam the neighborhood, or become a nuisance.

I will keep the area where my dog eats and sleeps sanitary and free from waste.

I will obtain a license for each dog that I own.

I will not allow my dog to bite or intimidate people.

I will pick up and remove waste from public areas and put it in the proper receptacle.

I will consider the peace and quiet of my neighbors and not allow my dog to bark excessively.

I will never treat an animal with cruelty or inhumane intentions. Nor will I ever cause an animal unneccesary pain, torture or untimely death.

I will transport my dog safely, not allowing it to ride in the open bed of a truck.

I will not leave my dog in a vehicle during summer or winter months.

I will have my dog properly vaccinated.

I will have my dog routinely checked by a veterinarian.

I will have my dog tested for heartworm at least once a year, and administer a heartworm preventative.

I will bathe my dog as needed.

I will do my best to keep my dog free from fleas and ticks.

I will not chain my dog outside for extended periods of time.

I will always provide a safe, warm place for my dog to sleep.

I will always love, care for and protect my dog.

I will be his companion and he mine.

I will never break his spirit, nor his trust.

I will care for my dog, to the best of my ability, until the time of his demise. I commit myself to him totally, vowing to be his sole owner for the duration of his life, so long as I am able to care for him.
