The House at Saddle Creek

At Long Last Construction . . .

After the planning phase, we thought we could breath a sigh of relief - all those decisions behind us  - we could sit and wait for the house - wrong again!

The construction loan was probably the most stressful part of the process.  The lender had our paperwork since the beginning of October 1999, but I guess we  didn't qualify for star treatment.  My usually calm, laid back (read waaaaay back), unflappable husband was nearly fit to be tied trying to make forward progress.

Scott Davis was as anxious to get started as we were, and actually started grading before we had the final papers signed! Finally, with the dawning of the new Millenium (I know, I know) a miracle happened we actually funded!

First, the put out stakes.  That's Chas, who at that time, was actually yearning for a steak.

Just the Stakes

Never in my life thought I'd say this, but I LOVE those tractors!

My Tractors

They actually draw the house out on the ground!  Who knew?

That's our neighbors' house - Joyce and Bill Pigue - terrific folks!  Their house was also built by Scott and Steve. Steve did some of the interior detail work himself - it has to be seen to be believed!
