The carelessness of consequences and
frivolousness of the flappers as well as the
spunkiness of the Roaring Twenties came to a
screeching halt on October 29th, 1929 when the
stock market crashed and sent the nation into
The Great Depression.
Even though the era was gone, many flapper-
influenced ideas remained. The Victorian image
of woman was gone. The stronger, more self-
assured woman was here to stay.
