ambush - Set an attack on someone.
Ambush is primarily a covert command, that allows you to set up a hidden
attack on a target. When you set an ambush, you lie in hiding waiting
for your target to wander into the room with you. When the target enters the
room you leap out on the target, hopefully, catching it unawares and
delivering a number of blows.
In order to learn ambush, you will need the following.
covert.steal to level 60
covert.items.weapons to level 60
The use of the command is quite simple. The command ambush without any
arguments, allows you to set an ambush this costs 25 Guild Points, (GP).
> ambush
You find a suitable place to hide and lay an ambush.
NOTE: You will not be able to ambush any targets that were in the
room with you when you set the ambush. If however, a target should leave and
then re-enter the room, you are then able to ambush it.
When your chosen target enters the room, you may leap out on it surprising
it, using the command,
> ambush {targets name}
You leap out on Clarence de Q'ta catching him completely unawares.
This costs a further 50 GP, making the total cost of ambushing 75GP
Your ambushing success depends largely upon the targets other.perception
score. Should your target prove to have sufficient perception, they may turn
the tables on you.
NOTE: When lying in ambush you are hiding. There are a number of
effects which may take you out of hiding, a cold, temperature and certain soul
commands. So bear this in mind when preparing your ambush.
crush - Hit someone hard with a blunt weapon.
Crush is an overhead strike with a blunt weapon. This command requires you
to be in offensive mode, (See tactics),
This is a combat special
attack, which means you must prepare for the attack, (Click here for
more information on preparing for special attacks).
> crush {target} with {weapon}
You prepare to crush the giant spider with
Retribution.
Preparing for the attack costs 45GP, this uses
fighting.combat.special.weapon, to determine your success at preparing for the
command. Some weapons are harder to use than others, and will require a higher
bonus.
NOTE: Enchantment will make a weapon harder to use, and consequently
also require a higher bonus in fighting.combat.special.weapon.
