A valid Drivers license from any country is valid for 3 months in Ontario.

Most Canadian towns are laid out using the block system: straight parallel roads forming a grid of blocks.
When streets in towns are given numbers such as 34th Street or 24th Avenue, which isn't always the case, navigation is extremely simple, with the additional advantage that it also becomes very easy to find house or building numbers, because at the start of each block the numbers start at a multiple of 100 based on the number of the intersecting street. Speed in Ontario is measured in Kilometers per hour. Speed limits on most highways are 80-90 kph and on controlled access freeways 100 kph, but there are a few exceptions. On city streets the speed is normally 50 kph unless posted otherwise.

Trucks: Stay Visible. When you come to a stop behind a truck , keep to the left of your lane so that the driver can see you in the trucks mirror. If you can not see the trucks mirror they probably can not see you.
Seat Belts: All occupants of a vehicle must wear or use the appropriate restraints. Failure to do so will result in fines of $90 and two demerit points. The driver is fined for the persons under the age of 16.
