The legend of Nanabijou (see history pages) - Thunder Cape, a part of Sibley Peninsula, resembles the unique shape of a sleeping giant - Nanabijou of Ojibway Indian lore, who once walked the Great Lakes guarding the treasure of silver islet. When the time came for his last long sleep, the giant lay down in the waters of Thunder Bay, where he will forever be seen 18 miles off shore, his body stretching out six-and-a-half miles, and his folded arms 1,100 feet above the surface.
Mount McKay: High on the mount on a ledge known as the "Lookout", the Ojibway Indians sponser their fun-filled, colourful Indian Days.
