Three Village Garden Club Exchange

From a very small beginning under a large tent, we now occupy this beautiful and historic building which was the firehouse in the early part of the century. The "Old Stone Jug", originally situated in the center of town, was the gathering place for social get-togethers. Villagers danced to the music of old Stony Brook's famous early American painter William Sidney Mount.

It was moved in 1941 and attached to the Old Firehouse and is now occupied by our country store. The Exchange was established to provide an outlet for the talents and crafts of members and is operated by volunteers. The commission on the sale of items (including antiques and collectibles, jewelry and linens), provides funds for the maintenance of this old building as well as the Clubhouse and Sanctuary grounds in Setauket. These funds also support beautification and conservation projects and our educational programs.
