Our Lives

Donna was born and raised in Bensonhurst, an Italian community of Brooklyn, New York. After a youth of jumping off the stoop with her roller skates on and later attending New Utrecht High School, she spent a year attending Brooklyn College before leaving the city for the hills of higher learning at Binghamton University. While at Binghamton, she refused to eat at Denny's due to their de facto racist hiring and serving policies, went sledding on cafeteria trays, worked for a local library and Time Warner Cable, and occasionally attended class. After spending another year in Binghamton after graduation, Donna packed her bags and headed south to Washington, DC where she found an apartment in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, pursued her Masters in Library Science at the Catholic University of America and enjoyed an internship at the U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to graduation, Donna secured the acquisitions librarian position at the lucrative law firm of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering and has since been promoted to the Resource Services Team Leader.

Born and raised in Huntington, New York, on the north shore of Long Island, Jason remembers riding his bike around the block until the sun went down, selling lemonade for 25 cents a cup, and listening to Billy Joel records. Jason took his first classes in photography at Huntington High School before moving to Atlanta, Georgia to attend Emory University to pursue his bachelor's degree in political science, join the legendary Beta Epsilon chapter of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, and began to build his artistic portfolio, hopefully to be showcased someday at negativespace.com. After graduating with an empty champagne bottle in his hand, Jason spent a summer backpacking through Israel and Egypt and studying at Aish HaTorah Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Upon his return to the U.S., Jason began law school at American University's Washington College of Law in Washington, DC. Jason spent half of his second year abroad in Hong Kong where he studied Chinese law, worked for the Hong Kong government, and backpacked through Asia, and then returned to the U.S. once again, this time to meet a wonderful girl named Donna. After graduation, Jason obtained a position as an associate attorney with Gardner, Carton & Douglas' telecommunications practice group, and is now employed as the Attorney Advisor to Chief Administrative Law Judge Ronnie. A. Yoder, U.S. Department of Transportation.

Our Life

Donna and Jason met during Summer 1999 in Washington, DC and have since been on many fine adventures to places such as Norfolk, Ogunquit, Niagra Falls, Toronto, Binghamton, Miami, and Orlando. After flirting with the idea of dating, Jason finally got the nerve in October 2000 to sheepishly ask Donna to be his girlfriend over a candlelit dinner at Le Ferme restaurant in Chevy Chase, Maryland. They both moved to Arlington, Virginia in June 2001, and adopted a german shephard puppy, Brooklyn Rose, one year later.
